Lord knows we've been ringing the bell for Abbie Cornish for quite some time, an actress who seems just on the cusp but hasn't quite found the mix of the right material and momentum to truly break out in a Chastain-esque fashion. (Though in a just and fair world, that should've happened after "Bright Star"). And so, we continue to hold out hope and in the meantime, she's booked a movie that finds her re-teaming with one of the "Seven Psychopaths."
Cornish has come on board the thriller "Solace" that already has Colin Farrell and Anthony Hopkins slated to star. A project that has been kicking around for a decade in various stages of development, the plot revolves around an FBI agent (Farrell) who enlists he help of a retired doctor (Hopkins) with psychic abilities (?!) to track down a killer. There's no word yet on Cornish's part but let's hope it actually gives her something substantial to do unlike her appearance in 'Psychopaths.'
Alfonso Poyart, the Brazilian helmer behind actioner "2 Rabbits" will get behind the camera for this one, with production to start next month. [Variety]
