Catherine Hardwicke, for better or worse, has largely defined what we have experienced, cinematically, for the past couple of years. Her influence might get lost in the shuffle, since every subsequent film has been helmed by a different director, but with the look and feel of the first "Twilight"' movie, she set the stage for a whole bunch of copycats and wannabes, which makes it all the more startling that she's returning to remarkably similar (hallowed) ground, with a revisionist take on "Red Riding Hood."

With "Big Love" now behind her, Amanda Seyfried will be breaking out on the big screen in 2011. She's got two high profile projects hitting theaters this year, Catherine Hardwicke's reworked fairy tale "Red Riding Hood" and Andrew Niccol's sci-fi thriller "Now." And Seyfried has just added another project to her busy schedule.

Michael Cera, Shannyn Sossamon, Amanda Seyfried, Jason Ritter Also In Cast A year ago, it looked like indie veteran Mark Webber might be about to take a major leap in his career, as one of the more left-field choices among the top-notch ensemble of Edgar Wright's "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World." While Webber was terrific as the neurotic, fame-hungry Sex Bob-omb frontman Stephen Stills in the picture, the disappointing box office haul of the film meant that the actor hasn't quite cracked the mainstream yet, even if it's gone some way to helping things along.

We really were hoping this was going to be something fun with a bit of gothic cool, but the teaser trailer has arrived for Catherine Hardwicke's "Red Riding Hood" and it's essentially another version of the "Twilight" story. No surprise she's so comfortable with the material as she did direct the first entry in the teenage vampire phenomenon.

Announced in March of this year, Amanda Seyfried, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Glenn Close, Orlando Bloom, Michael Gambon and Janet McTeer in the cast of "Albert Nobbs" as directed by Rodrigo Garcia ("Mother And Child"), sounded like a pretty tantalizing prospect.

Amanda Seyfried, Blake Lively & Abbie Cornish Also In ContentionDo these names seem familiar? Yep, its the go-to crop of actresses that seem to circle every major project and you've probably seen them crop up as potential leads for Alfonso Cuaron's "Gravity" and Ridley Scott's "Alien" prequel. So not really much of a surprise then that another high profile project, Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby" now has these usual contenders being linked to the part of Daisy. If you had asked us to guess what names would be considered, these faces probably would've been right up there.

Here's a first look at Amanda Seyfried rocking a red bob with a very un-Sean Parker-like Justin Timberlake on the set of Andrew Niccol's sci-fi thriller possibly titled "Now."
