If there is one thing that HBO's "The Girl" and Fox Searchlight's "Hitchcock" seem to underscore, it's that Alfred Hitchcock surely liked his leading ladies. To what degree and how sleazy he may or may not have been, is open to interpretation. And while the Toby Jones vehicle portrays him as a ruthless cad, Sacha Gervasi's picture -- set during the making of "Psycho" -- takes a bit of a lighter air, though the helmer certainly doesn't mind making sure the curves are framed properly. And fresh off the film's AFI Fest debut, some new images have arrived giving a closer look at the rest of the extended cast, including the actresses who take on some classic cinema roles.

Hypnotic, beautiful, and perilous in equal measure – one needn’t glance anywhere else but at the leading ladies of Alfred Hitchcock’s films to garner their intense influence, yet as dramatized in “Anvil!” director Sacha Gervasi’s loving biopic, “Hitchcock,” the real authority lingered off the set at home, shielding her husband quietly from failure and ruin. What follows is a peek behind the curtain on Hitchcock’s marriage to Alma Reville (the couple played by Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren), while charting their pangs of jealousy and pressure during the turbulent making of “Psycho.”

Well, while the verdict is still out, its awards season chances will start to be determined tonight when the film opens the AFI Fest in Los Angeles. But to start the chatter a little early this afternoon, the studio has unveiled a tiny teaser.

Two films enter, one film leaves! Dueling "Snow White" pictures made way for dueling Alfred Hitchock pictures in 2012 (oh, how Hollywood loves to battle with itself). And the verdict may already be in. The version focusing on the master of suspense's releationship with Tippi Hedren staring Toby Jones and Sienna Miller, "The Girl" screened this weekend at the Hamptons International Film Festival and our reviewer wasn't overly impressed (however some other reviews have been a bit more generous). That leaves "Hitchcock," which centers on the making of the groundbreaking psychological horror film, "Psycho." The synopsis so far is rather vague, but provides enough to keep us interested:

Though it boasted a script from the venerable Peter Morgan ("The Queen," "Frost/Nixon") with an all-star cast and Fernando Meirelles ("City Of God," "The Constant Gardener") at the helm, "360" was coolly received when it premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last fall. But there are just too many intriguing elements to ignore, and with the film arriving in theaters later this summer, a new trailer has landed giving a good overview of the flick.

There was time when the idea of writing up a story about Anthony Hopkins being caught between two sequels would've seemed laughable. But welcome to 2012, where if you want keep the lights on and maintain some profile in Hollywood, you whore your soul to Marvel or sign up for a big franchise.

It appears things are finally moving on the long gestating supernatural-crime thriller, "Solace," which Anthony Hopkins has been attached to since last fall. In case you need a refresher, the film will follow a psychic doctor, played by Hopkins, who works for the FBI and is on the trail of a serial killer. And this movie has been in the works forever with a batch of writers (Ted Griffin, Sean Bailey, James Vanderbilt), actors (Morgan Freeman, Bruce Willis) and directors (Shekhar Kapur, Mark Pellington) coming and going at various points.
