Even if we wouldn't say he's quite cracked it yet, we've got a lot of respect for the way that Zac Efron is trying to establish himself as a proper grown-up adult actor. After all, the "High School Musical" series would be an albatross for many, but Efron's quietly been banging out a diverse mix of parts, and while things like "The Paperboy" and "At Any Price" haven't quite paid off yet, he's heading in the right direction. The actor's got several promising projects in the can already, including rom-com "Are We Officially Dating?," JFK ensemble drama "Parkland" and Seth Rogen/Nick Stoller comedy "Townies," and now, hot on the back of signing on to Eran Creevy's "Autobahn," the actor's just lined up thriller "Narc." Sounding a bit like a laugh-free "21 Jump Street," the project's being described as a based-in-fact, college-set version of "Donnie Brasco," and will see the actor play a fratboy who's busted for cocaine possession, and who agrees to become an informant to avoid jail time. Bring out the Cuervo, it’s Cinco de Mayo! Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day and, although Mexican public schools are closed for the day (isn’t that the real definition of a holiday?), it is celebrated more, ahem, seriously, in the United States than Mexico. So you know, the Mexicans beat the French at the Battle of Puebla and Mexican ex-pats living in Civil War-era California turned it into a holiday. Fun fact, the Battle of Puebla also marks the last time a European force invaded anywhere in the Americas (we’re talking proper military invasions – not U-boats off of Maine’s seacoast during WW2 or the 1960’s British Invasion).

It was way back in the fall of 2011 when the trailer for Jean-Jacques Annaud’s “Black Gold” was released, as the film started to hit the festival circuit. Now, in 2013, the epic film is finally seeing a release in North America with the brand new (and somewhat bland) title of “Day Of The Falcon.”

Who does he think he is? Woody Allen? It seems Terrence Malick is using his engimatic appeal and auteur status to basically get whoever the hell he wants for "Knight Of Cups." It seems that if you happen to be nearby where he's shooting, and you're a celebrity, you can get a part in the film. And another name has joined the ranks.

Well, now that Terrence Malick's "To The Wonder" has been confirmed for Venice and Toronto, we can start obsessing over his next film, the currently lensing "Knight Of Cups." We've already seen an endless number of cast members so far revealed by set photos and/or Twitter -- Wes Bentley, Imogen Poots, Freida Pinto, Teresa Palmer -- with one more name now coming coming aboard.

Alex Pettyfer, star of failed franchise starter “I Am Number Four,” and Steven Soderbergh's upcoming "Magic Mike" has found a new starring role in the first English-language film from “Heartbreaker” helmer Pascal Chaumeil. “Diamond Dogs” is based on an Alan Watt novel that is described as a crime thriller. Pettyfer will play the son of a Nevada sheriff who makes a life-changing mistake, and his father is forced to cover it up. Casting is currently underway for the father and no start date has been set.
