While Armie Hammer has ridden his "The Social Network" buzz into roles in Clint Eastwood's "J. Edgar" and Tarsem's Snow White film it looks like his shot at starring opposite Johnny Depp in "The Lone Ranger" has been tabled for now.

Armie Hammer has found himself quickly on the top of the list of young actors in Hollywood. His breakout performance in David Fincher's "The Social Network" quickly nabbed him roles in Clint Eastwood's "J. Edgar" as well as Tarsem Singh's upcoming Snow White movie with Julia Roberts. And if everything goes according to plan, Hammer could quickly find himself starring opposite the biggest movie star in the world.

The L.A. Times has just released a profile on Jeff Rubinov, the new president of Warner Bros. following the departure of Alan Horn. It's a short profile, mostly detailing Rubinov's social awkwardness and his professional quirks, such as a refusal to work with David Fincher, who clashed with Rubinov (and everybody else?) during the making of both "Zodiac" and "The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button," while also honoring his good ideas, such as his suggestion to use the Batmobile in "Batman Begins" and his hands-on approach to the "Sherlock Holmes" films.

As we're sure you're aware by now, there are three duelling projects retelling the tale of Snow White in development. One, Disney's "Snow and the Seven," is the furthest away -- while "Toy Story 3" writer Michael Arndt recently signed on to do a script polish, and director Francis Lawrence is still nominally attached, it has no star, and no start date. Another, Universal's "Snow White and the Huntsman," was once leading the pack, and does have Kristen Stewart signed on in the title role, but seems to have hit problems in recent days -- Charlize Theron still hasn't signed on as the villain, and Viggo Mortensen's talks have apparently collapsed.

An interesting story recently caught our eyes and one that contradicts everything we've heard about and read from Clint Eastwood's 'J.Edgar,' his biopic of FBI Bureau chief J. Edgar Hoover.

Colin O’Donaghue Also In The RunningYesterday, massive news broke that Henry Cavill had won the role of Superman in Zack Snyder’s new adaptation for Warner Brothers. Cavill is best known for his work as Charles Brandon on “The Tudors," but as predicted, the role went to a relative unknown, and someone who has experienced his fair share of audition hell. Cavill had been eyed to wear tights for "Batman Begins" and "Green Lantern" (among other franchises) and he even once before landed the role of Superman when it was in McG's hands, but lost the part when the project changed over to Bryan Singer who eventually went with Brandon Routh for "Superman Returns."

Yes, The Title Has Changed From 'Hoover'Good things are happening to the smaller players from David Fincher's critically acclaimed and Oscar bound "The Social Network." Rooney Mara was hired on by the helmer for his hotly buzzed adaptation of Stieg Larsson's "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" and now, Armie Hammer, whose double performance as the Winkelvoss twins earned him the kind of attention being heaped on Tom Hardy following his turn in "Inception," is now ready to move on up the career ladder.
