Ron Livingston
While HBO already has a busy spring slate with "Game Of Thrones" season 3, "Veep" season 2, "Vice" and "Behind The Candelabra" all premiering, the cable network is continuing to develop a promising lineup of news shows, while adding to existing hits. So let's dive in.

Scientific fact: every movie is better for having a little Sam Rockwell in it. Whether it's in a lead role, like in "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" or "Moon," or a scene-stealing supporting turn like in "Galaxy Quest" or the blockbuster "Iron Man 2," he's one of those actors who never gives a bad performance, and makes every picture he appears in that much better.

After a break-out turn in Kathryn Bigelow's "The Hurt Locker," where he went toe-to-toe with Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie, Brian Geraghty hasn't exactly risen at the same trajectory as his two former co-stars; his most high-profile roles to date are in the yet-be-released ensemble rom-com "Ten Year" and the universally-panned horror flick "ATM."

Review: 'ATM' Is An Impossibly Implausible, Hilariously Bad B-Movie

Cheap, slapped-together run-of-the-mill B-movie thrillers are a dime a dozen. And their egregiousness is often not worthy of outrage or scorn because frequently the films are made on the cheap with a knowing eye towards making a buck with direct-to-DVD sales or foreign markets that don’t care about quality. Everyone is professional and yet (very) aware they’re not making art.

If you're looking to make your first film, a single-location thriller seems to be a pretty good way of doing it; a small cast, a manageable shoot, and a simple canvas on which to show off your direction (indeed, not so long ago, we ran a list of some of the best of the genre). That's the approach David Brooks has taken with his debut "ATM," which comes from the pen of Chris Sparling, a man who knows a thing or two about single-locations, having written the Ryan Reynolds vehicle "Buried," which was set, entirely, in a coffin.

It might have taken a little time (18 months passed between the film's premiere in Venice and its Oscar victory), but basically everyone came out of "The Hurt Locker" with a ton of heat behind them. Directing and writing pair Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal attracted the attention of most of the A-list for their thriller "Triple Frontier," before switching streams to head to the unexpectedly timely "Kill Bin Laden," which is gearing up to go next. Jeremy Renner has become the most sought-after leading man in town, with lead roles in "The Avengers," "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol," "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters" and "The Bourne Legacy," while Anthony Mackie has done equally well, cropping up in everything from the imminent "Real Steel" to the upcoming "Gangster Squad."

TIFF '11 Review: 'Ten Year' Brings Together A Strong Cast For A Mixed Bag Of Comedy & Drama

Births, funerals, marriage, anniversaries and even annual vacations have all served as plot devices in the reunion film, a genre that usually finds middle-aged or older characters dealing with a crisis that is exacerbated by seeing old family and friends. And while "Ten Year" certainly isn't breaking new territory, producer and star Channing Tatum, along with writer/director Jamie Linden ("Dear John"), do take an interesting approach. Wisely not going far beyond their own age bracket, this film brings together a pretty solid ensemble cast of some of the best up-and-coming actors working right now for a tale that catches up with a gaggle of friends for a reunion -- you guessed it -- ten years after their graduation from high school. Taking on a bunch of characters as they leave their twenties is definitely a smart concept but instead of offering what could have been an honest look at contemporary soon-to-be thirtysomethings and the challenges, fears and triumphs they have endured, "Ten Year" delivers a mixed bag of CW plots that at worst are cliché and predictable, with a very few that do stand out.

Gary Cole & Brian Geraghty Also On BoardIf you haven't watched "Parks and Recreation," then you've been missing one of the best comedic on-screen pairings in ages with real-life husband and wife team Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally playing bitter, hyper-sexual ex-spouses Ron and Tammy #2. The episodes centered around their contentious relationship are some of the best in the series, so we'll gladly follow the duo wherever they go.

While "The Hurt Locker" seemed to be a career boost for everyone involved, it's been disappointing that Brian Geraghty has been overlooked (how come his name hasn't been popping up for tentpole shortlist casting?). Just as solid as his co-stars Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie, Geraghty hasn't quite had the same post-'Locker' push as his castmates. No matter, we're keeping an eye on the actor and what he does next, and now he's lined up an indie drama to star in.

Well, here's one that has landed square on our radar thanks to the intriguing triple threat of young, on-the-rise talent in the lead roles.
