Things are going very well for Lea Seydoux. After having a very short appearance in the opening of Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” -- she played one of the daughters of the French farmer Christoph Waltz interrogates -- Seydoux appeared in the films of Ridley Scott and Woody Allen, and she recently added Wes Anderson to her list of auteurs with her role in his upcoming “The Grand Budapest Hotel” (and as the star of the Anderson and Roman Coppola co-directed Prada ads). The French actress, however, hasn’t forgotten about her homeland as she’s set to join Benoit Jacquot’s “Three Hearts” ("Trois coeurs") alongside two other French stars.

If you had to pick the final film to be completed after a forty-year career of over one hundred films, you’d certainly hope for one as masterful as “Mysteries Of Lisbon,” the four-hour 2010 epic that proved to be the last completed directorial effort from Chilean-born, French-settled filmmaker Raúl Ruiz. An internationally acclaimed Portugese-language costume drama, it’s one of the richest films of the last few years, and one that certainly served as a fitting crowning accomplishment.

Last summer, the cinema world lost the great, prolific and distinctive filmmaker Raul Ruiz. Probably best known to contemporary audiences for "The Mysteries Of Lisbon," the Cannes winner has in the middle of preparations for his next film, "The Lines Of Wellington," which was set to center around the Battle Of Bussaco in 1810 and the French invasion of Portugal. Well, fans will be relieved to know the movie is still happening.
