Snowpiercer, Chris Evans
Picked up by The Weinstein Company last fall, rumored for Cannes and generally spending the last few months teasing us with a handful of stills repurposed into posters as well, now comes the first real look at Bong Joon-ho's upcoming, star-studded "Snowpiercer." Was it worth the wait?

The World's End
It seems that if you want some vision of the world coming an end, you have more than a few options at the movies this year; on Wednesday "This Is The End" comes to theaters, and numerous sci-fi blockbusters this summer ("Oblivion," "After Earth") have already tackled apocalyptic visions of Earth forever changed and humanity forced to leave. Some extra posters for a couple of the other flavors of big and scary end-times are here, continuing cinema's determination to make 2013 the year it all ended.

According to The Wrap, the first member of the rebooted “Fantastic Four” might be cast – Michael B. Jordan, who co-starred in director Josh Trank’s previous movie, the more-clever-than-it-had-any-right-to-be “Chronicle,” seems to be in contention to play The Human Torch aka Johnny Storm. The reboot is scheduled to hit theaters in 2015.

Are we living in a post-gangster movie age? From the early talkies to the Oscar-winning success of “The Departed,” the genre has been ever-popular and responsible for seminal films from “White Heat” and “The Godfather” to “Goodfellas” and “Pulp Fiction.” But one struggles to think of a standout film in the genre since Scorsese's Oscar winner, with memorable mobsters now coming from television rather than the movies. We’re sure that someone will come along and give the form new life one of these days, but that reinvention of the wheel doesn’t come from Ariel Vroman’s “The Iceman,” which is decent enough, but fails to cover ground that hasn’t already been covered many times before.

The summer movie season is nearly upon us, but one of the most hotly tipped summer movies (at least for film fans of a certain ilk) still doesn't have a release date in America: Bong Joon-ho's sci-fi extravaganza "Snowpiercer." The Weinstein Company bought the domestic rights to the movie, which concerns a train traversing a post-apocalyptic, snow-covered earth, and initially had planned to release it this summer, when the movie rolls out globally. But they haven't said much, so god only knows when it will wash up on American shores. Until then, a recently released behind-the-scenes clip (courtesy of The Film Stage) gives us our first look at "Snowpiercer" in motion.

Well, it turned out be an old photo from a fashion shoot, but she's finally revealed in these new character posters for "Snowpiercer" and it's still pretty surprising. Awesomely so.

Chris Evans, Snow Piercer
In a few short weeks, the Cannes Film Festival will unveil their slate for 2013, and while speculation continues to swirl about which movies will make the trip to the south of France, one of the highly touted titles is Bong Joon-ho's "Snowpiercer." It's certainly been engaged in a slow-build marketing campaign, with posters and images dripping out here and there, and today comes another bit of interesting material with character posters for everyone involved.

Frank Miller isn't a complicated man, but his work does seem to suggest that he's fine with sticking to the "Sin City"/"The Spirit" millieu thankyouverymuch. And after teaming with Evan Rachel Wood and Chris Evans a couple of years ago for a stylish Gucci spot, the director has paired up with the actors again to make another ad for the fashion house.

Deadline is exclusively reporting news out of Toronto that the once-and-future Captain America Chris Evans and supremely underutilized Michelle Monaghan will co-star in "A Many Splintered Thing," for McG's Wonderland Sound & Vision and Voltage Pictures. Described in the report as "in the vein of 'Amelie' and '(500) Days of Summer'" (Manic Pixie Dream Girls, activate!), a self-described "anti-romantic comedy." The film will mark Evans' first outing as an executive producer.
