The 10 Best Movie Idiots
Inspired in part by the Roman festival of Hilaria and the medieval Feast Of Fools, the first of the fourth month brings April Fool’s Day, a celebration of jokes, pranks and hoaxes around the world. It probably hasn’t escaped your attention, thanks to the prevalence of weak LOLs, thin hoaxes, and people complaining about the weak LOLs and thin hoaxes on social media.

Last night, "Girls" closed out its second season with a rather lacklustre finale, and while "Game Of Thrones" is HBO's next big series out the gate, later this spring they'll be returning with more laughs. The second season of "Veep" will kick off in April, with a new trailer recently arriving, and then in May, Christopher Guest will make a long awaited return with "Family Tree." And the first teaser promises a lot of familiar faces from his usual collective...

The bargain bins of the world are littered with attempts to make films for the whole family. Making something that will please young kids, grandparents, and everyone in between (a four-quadrant hit, as studio types call it) is a tough nut to crack. But one of the most enduring family favorites of the last few decades is one that, against the odds, managed to thrill audiences, make them laugh, and make them swoon: Rob Reiner's "The Princess Bride."

Generally, getting a show on television first requires shooting a pilot that hopefully the network likes, after which they'll order up a bunch of episodes and hopefully you'll make it past the first season. But sometimes, a project just makes sense right out of the gate, and that's how HBO feels about "Family Tree."

Chris O'Dowd is, quite frankly, a man to watch at the moment. The Irish actor first came to notice alongside Richard Ayoade on British TV show "The I.T. Crowd," which brought him to the attention of Hollywood. And while his early film roles went off a little half-cocked -- "Dinner For Schmucks," "Gulliver's Travels," "The Boat That Rocked" -- he's had an enormous amount of success in the last twelve months or so, led by being the romantic lead in monster comedy hit "Bridesmaids."

When Christopher Guest and his mostly regular crew of funny people including Eugene Levy, Fred Willard and Bob Balaban appeared during the Oscar broadcast in February, it was a welcome a treat and one of the best moments on the show. It has been a far too long seven years since the gang's last outing, the admittedly tepid "For Your Consideration," but we hoped their brief reunion was a sign there was something bigger on the horizon. Alas, it seems it's not to be.

This writer certainly didn't watch the game or the unbearable hours long pre-show, and really, all we cared about were the movie spots during the Super Bowl, but of course, there were plenty of non-film related ads that aired as well and among those still creating chatter after the game was a series of three commercials for group-buying site Groupon.
