By now, devoted cinephiles likely know what to expect going into a Gregg Araki movie: sex-crazed teens, an overabundance of nudity (sometimes pretty, sometimes not), a dream-like story wrapped snugly in a nightmare and a killer soundtrack. However, it would be lazy for someone to call it trash cinema—there’s a lot of feeling in his films (please watch "Mysterious Skin" now). Araki is a brilliant director who finds a great deal of meaning in stories of teenage angst and sexual desire, and is perhaps the finest example of coming-of-rage cinema. His latest film, "White Bird in a Blizzard," is his most grownup film to date, but never deviates far from his comfort zone.

Who is left to guide you if your parents disappear? That seems to be the central question of the latest from Gregg Araki, "White Bird In A Blizzard," with the first teaser trailer arriving and promising a slightly more surreal take on the traditional coming-of-age story.

It's almost hard to believe but in less than two months all eyes will be on the Sundance Film Festival where an entire year's worth of new indies will be unveiled for everyone to get excited for in 2014. While the lineup has yet to be revealed it's probably a safe bet that Gregg Araki's next effort, "White Bird In A Blizzard" will be there. Once again he brings together a fascinating cast for an unlikely tale.

Man Of Steel
We’re officially a week away from the “Man of Steel” flying into theaters and I couldn’t be more thrilled. How the final product will turn out is still up in the air, but I have to say that this has been a fine promotional run for Warner Bros. I haven’t seen a single bit of footage or trailer that has dissuaded me from seeing this film on June 14th. Speaking of which, we have the latest TV spot and two new clips which you can view below.

There may be snow on the ground, and the daylight hours are short, but believe us when we say spring is around the corner. And nothing says spring like the smell of the grass on the field and sound of a baseball hitting the bat. After watching the new trailer for the Jackie Robinson biopic "42," you might be eager to start oiling your glove.

(Former) shock rocker (is he all that shocking anymore?) Marilyn Manson seems to be enjoying this whole acting thing. He's done bit parts here and there over the years ("Party Monster" and "Jawbreaker" among them), but it seems he's taking a bigger step toward movie roles. He already has a stint in Quentin Dupieux's "Wrong Cops" and how he's headed to cable. Brian Warner will stretch his wings playing himself in a guest spot on Showtime's "Californication" starring David Duchovny. Production on the series is now underway and you can see the longawaited Manson/Duchovny pairing in 2013 on the seventh season's seventh episode. [THR]

Back in December, it was reported that newcomer Chadwick Boseman would be highlighting the Brian Helgeland-helmed Jackie Robinson biopic “42,” portraying the first black baseball player to play in the Major Leagues. It was surely exciting news for Boseman, as well as for once-reliable actor Harrison Ford, who landed the role of Robinson’s Brooklyn Dodger exec Branch Rickey who initially signed Robinson to the team. It was a role that Jack Nicholson and Robert Redford had reportedly been circling, so it was great for the actor who’s most recent work has consisted of mediocre offerings like “Morning Glory” and “Cowboys & Aliens.”

While some trades had claimed that the casting of Superman's parents would be the last major pieces of the "Man Of Steel" roster to be filled out, it appears that's not the case, as one more name has boarded the project.
