Not content with signing for Matthew Vaughn's “The Secret Service” (guess what it's about), Colin Firth has just been cast in another spy flick, “A Foreign Country”, based on Charles Cumming's so-named novel and produced by Silver Reel and Raindog (who are also behind another of Firth's upcoming pictures, “The Railway Man”). Handily, Raindog is Firth's own company, run with former Sony exec Ged Doherty.

Colin Firth pretty much classes up the joint whenever he appears on screen, so no surprise the actor is in high demand. Hell, this morning we learned he was making a rare blockbuster move, and lining up a role in Matthew Vaughn's "Secret Service." But when Woody Allen comes calling, you clear your schedule, and Firth certainly has.

As an actor, Colin Firth has proved remarkably resilient over his thirty-year career. After breaking through in 1984's "Another Country," a series of strong performances followed that never quite saw him become a huge star. But suddenly, 1995's TV version of "Pride & Prejudice" made him a heartthrob, and led to roles in Oscar-winners "The English Patient" and "Shakespeare In Love." Just as the roles started to dry up again, he played another seminal romantic lead in "Bridget Jones' Diary." And then, as his career seemed to creep into self-parody with the likes of "Mamma Mia" and "St. Trinian's," he got back-to-back Oscar nominations for "A Single Man" and "The King's Speech," winning for the latter.

So, there's two ways to look at this story: as a reteaming between Colin Firth and Emily Blunt who star in "Arthur Newman" opening today or as the rare non-Happy Madison outing by Adam Sandler. We'll let you decide which one you want to go with, but the bottom line is this is a pretty good, and unexpected cast for this upcoming comedy.

What if we are all Arthur Newman? This is the question that director Dante Ariola and screenwriter Becky Johnston raise in "Arthur Newman," their tepid, imaginatively uninvolved drama about two strangers that fall in love while trying to escape their banal past lives. Ariola and Johnston’s film follows a rag-tag couple, played by Colin Firth and Emily Blunt, who bond when they discover that they both want to run away from their respective families and create new lives for themselves.

BitTorrent, perhaps one of few words that can strike fear in the hearts of movie executives, has long been synonymous with piracy. But Cinedigm are hoping to change the game. Today they tried out a new marketing tactic, one that embraces the filesharing tool and tries to use it promotion, and while time will only tell if the industry and movie viewers dig this kind of personalized touch, it has resulted in a pretty generous look at "Arthur Newman."

It seems that what Nicole Kidman wants, Nicole Kidman gets. Last fall, the actress expressed a desire to reteam with Colin Firth, with whom she recently wrapped the WWII tale "The Railway Man," on the upcoming thriller "Before I Go To Sleep." And that's exactly what's going to happen.

Judging in terms of pure profitability, “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” has to be considered one of the biggest hits of the year. Off a meager $10 million budget it has gone on to gross over $46 million domestically and $134 million worldwide – and that’s before considering that it could go on to pocket a whole lot more from its home video release should it nab some of the Oscar nominations that it’s currently being talked up for. But not content with gobbling up all of 2012’s grey pound, screenwriter Ol Parker is currently penning a follow up for Fox Searchlight.

While it doesn't have a U.S. release date just yet, the Coen Brothers penned, Cameron Diaz and Colin Firth starring comedy "Gambit" is already kicking up its heels overseas. A remake of the 1966 Michael Caine/Shirley MacLaine film, while on paper it sounds promising, the end result is a bit more disappointing (read our review here), but judge for yourself with four clips from the movie below.
