So how long has the stoner comedy "High School" been sitting around? Let's just put it this way: we saw this movie two years ago at the Fantasia Film Festival (review here), and at the time it was still seeking distribution. Well, it finally got picked up by Anchor Bay sometime between then and now, and it's headed to theaters, and we'll be curious to see if it's been edited or changed in that time.

Perhaps perturbed that other A-List offspring like Jaden and Willow Smith have already managed to become more famous than he is, Colin Hanks is finally breaking out, Emma Roberts style! After toiling away in numerous thankless roles -- his turns in "King Kong" and "The House Bunny" hardly set the planet on fire -- Yahoo! Movies has debuted the trailer for Hanks Jr.'s biggest role since 2002’s “Orange County”, a serial killer comedy "Lucky".

It can't be easy being the son of Tom Hanks, just ask this guy. But for Colin Hanks, he's done a pretty solid job so far of moving up the ranks of Hollywood. Sure, he teamed with Papa Hanks for "The Great Buck Howard," but no one saw that movie anyway, and he's been quietly amassing screen credits (and when he's not in meetings, he's been hitting Twitter pretty hard) featuring most prominently in "Orange County" and "King Kong." But 2011 seems to be the year we'll he'll finally start getting a much higher profile. He recently scored a prominent, recurring role on the forthcoming, sixth season of "Dexter" and now he's set to join what should be one of the bigger comedies of 2012.
