As far as two people to create a TV series together, it'd be hard to do much better than J.J. Abrams and Alfonso Cuaron. The former is, obviously, the man behind hits like "Alias," "Lost" and "Revolution," while the latter is the acclaimed filmmaker behind "Children Of Men," who'll make his long-awaited return this October with "Gravity." The delayed post-production on the latter gave Cuaron the time to cook up "Believe" with Abrams, and direct a pilot, NBC picked up the show, and now a trailer has arrived, via /Film.

Guillermo Del Toro don't quit. Dude has approximately fifty-nine kajibblion projects in the works -- hell, he just set up "Monster" at HBO -- and with "Pacific Rim" gearing up to land this summer, and "Crimson Peak" to shoot early next year, he's keeping busy. In between, he'll be bringing his book series "The Strain" to the small screen and he's found his leading man.

Bounced around development after “Boardwalk Empire” writer Margaret Nagle turned in a buzzworthy script, the based-on-true-events drama “The Good Lie” is finally making its way to fruition, and with some further pedigree attached. “Monsieur Lazhar” director Philippe Falardeau will helm the pic with Reese Witherspoon in the lead, and now you can count two more noteworthy names toward the cast.

It's a pretty exciting time to watch the current crop of leading men emerge. Names like Ryan Gosling, Michael Fassbender and Tom Hardy are some of the most interesting actors to follow these days, each them choose to work with great talent and take on fascinating roles. Their stars are still in ascendance, but they've certainly proved a breath of fresh air to the movies in the last few years.

If you’ve been Kate Mara-thoning “House of Cards” over this past month or so like Netflix wants you to, then you’re likely to have been pretty impressed by the work of Corey Stoll who plays Congressman Peter Russo in the political thriller. Stoll’s biggest roles on the big screen have come in the likes of “Salt,” “Midnight in Paris” (in which he played Ernest Hemingway) and “The Bourne Legacy,” but now he’s landed what sounds like a pretty sizable role in Shawn Levy’s new comedy.

Ten days ago, Beau Willimon, David Fincher, Kevin Spacey and Netflix hoped to change the future of television with "House of Cards," the first high-profile series to be produced by, and air exclusively on, the streaming platform. A remake of the late 1980s BBC miniseries (itself based on the book by Michael Dobbs), the 13-part first season of "House Of Cards" was adapted by "The Ides Of March" co-writer Beau Willimon who developed the series for Netflix. Executive-produced by Fincher, who also directed the first two episodes, with Spacey leading a cast that also includes Robin Wright, Corey Stoll, Kate Mara nad many more.

When Netflix announced that they would get into the scripted programming game, with three high profile projects all lined up for the first half of 2013 (including the Eli Roth literary-based Gothic horror project "Hemlock Grove" and the hopefully rapturous return of oddball comedy classic "Arrested Development"), it seemed that the possibilities, in theory, were endless. Netflix would be unburdened by the restraints, in both content and form, of the tired old ad revenue-dependent television model (premium cable, while remaining fuzzier, still depends on subscribers), free to provocatively reshape our formalized notion of "television" and "shows." Except, that didn't happen. At least not yet. It's first big, splashy original production, a David Fincher, Kevin Spacey and Eric Roth produced remake of the British miniseries "House Of Cards," doesn't take any bold structural or stylistic detours. But it is totally fucking brilliant just the same.

Based on an essay in “Naked,” David Sedaris' hugely popular collection of autobiographical short stories, “C.O.G.” is notable for being the very first film adaptation of the author's work. Though he’d previously turned down all other offers to adapt his stories, the essayist was impressed by writer/director Kyle Patrick Alvarez’s pitch as well as his previous film “Easier With Practice” and decided to let him have a shot. Whether this adaptation is successful or not may depend on your familiarity with the author’s work.

As the highly anticipated, debut Netflix series "House Of Cards" heads into production, it's easily looking like one of the most promising new shows on the horizon. From producers Kevin Spacey and David Fincher (who will be helming the pilot and possibly more episodes), the show has lined up an ace cast -- Spacey, Robin Wright, Kristin Connolly, Susannah Harker, Kate Mara -- in the American transplated remake of the 1990s BBC hit political thriller.
