Rage
If, for whatever reason, you find yourself in an argument with someone who is desperately trying to convince you that Nicolas Cage has returned to form with his brilliant performance in David Gordon Green’s “Joe," you’ll be able to shut them up thanks to Paco Cabezas. They can bring up all sorts of scenes as valid evidence of Cage’s buried talents, unearthed by his performance as Green’s titular protagonist, but you’ll only need one word for a comeback and it will be checkmate—“Rage."

Rage
So listen, everyone likes to make fun of Nicolas Cage for the string of crap movies he makes. But seriously, what is dude supposed to do when he makes a movie like David Gordon Green's "Joe"—which he invested a lot of time on (for probably little pay), and which everyone called a return to form—and no one goes to see it? Seriously, it made $340,000 at the box office—total. So who can blame the guy for taking an easy paycheck when one comes his way? You asked for this people.

Nicolas Cage Tokarev
We're not sure what language "Tokarev" comes from, but we can only guess that translated into English it means, "collecting a pay check." Boasting low budgets and a pretty wheezy storyline, it's a reminder that for every decent movie Nicolas Cage does—like David Gordon Green's upcoming "Joe"—he's got about five more of these bargain bin efforts in the can.

While James McTeigue for a moment seemed like the next great blockbuster hopeful following "V For Vendetta," the diminishing returns of "Ninja Assassin" and "The Raven" have found him directing his leanest movie yet. Milla Jovovich, Pierce Brosnan, Emma Thompson and Angela Bassett will star in "Survivor," a thriller that'll shoot in January.

Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight
If further evidence were needed that the lines between TV and film are becoming less and less visible, Cannes has provided a decent opportunity. Last year saw "Hemingway & Gellhorn" get an out-of-competition screening, whereas this year went one better, and has seen Steven Soderbergh's "Behind The Candelabra" pick up some of the best reviews of the festival.

The Stephen Frears-directed “Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight” has had no shortage of casting updates since things got underway back in February, with future “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” star Benjamin Walker joining the fold as Kevin Kennedy, a Supreme Court clerk who supported Ali and even wrote briefs that would help to maintain the boxer's status as a conscientious objector of the war, all in this tale of Ali’s trial following his arrest for anti-Vietnam sentiments and behaviour when drafted to serve in the war.
