While there is still no official casting for "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron," probably because the movie is still a considerable time away from hitting theaters, it looks like Marvel is getting their ducks in a row. Unless something goes horribly wrong, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is pretty much set to play Quicksilver in the movie, with Elizabeth Olsen long rumored to play his sister, Scarlet Witch. Well, consider that rumor confirmed?

You know it's coming, so all we can do at this point is wait for Spike Lee's "Oldboy" to arrive, to see how he approaches the remake of Park Chan-Wook's film. But the movie has given the marketing department an interesting premise to play with, and they've certainly taken the ball and run to the end zone.

Therese, Oscar Isaac, Elizabeth Olsen
What a tangled web we weave when with heaving bosoms and pained looks of longing we deceive, and Charlie Stratton's adaptation of author Emile Zola's "Therese Raquin" certainly features enough scenes of both of those. It's a story that's been brought forth in a number to TV productions and most notably on the big screen in Marcel Carné's 1952 effort, and while this latest attempt at the material doesn't do anything strikingly radical, it does allow the lead trio of Elizabeth Olsen, Oscar Isaac and Jessica Lange take thoroughly decent, if unexceptional, material and make it more compelling and dramatic than it has any right to be.

Therese, Oscar Isaac, Elizabeth Olsen
It takes a lot to revive a literary classic, with a number of approaches being utilized in recent years. Change the character's race ("Wuthering Heights")! Have it set on a grand stage ("Anna Karenina")! Turn it into a 3D video game ("The Great Gatsby")! But sometimes the best approach is a more classical one, which seems to be the path that Charlie Stratton chose when adapting Émile Zola's "Thérèse Raquin" for the big screen as "Therese." The adaptation, starring Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Felton, Oscar Isaac, and Jessica Lange, premieres as part of this year's Toronto International Film Festival and has just debuted the first clip as well as a couple of new photos.

Scarlet With Avengers 2 Elizabeth Olsen
It’s just two years from the nerd singularity — the 2015 summer movie season — and pre-production on “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” has moved along swimmingly. Of the film’s new characters, we know that Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the frontrunner for the role of Quicksilver but the character’s twin sister has been more of a mystery, until now apparently.

And now the first clip for the film has been unveiled to give a little serving of what folks will get in Toronto next month.

Oldboy trailer
There's only ever one way a remake of Park Chan-wook's "Oldboy" was ever going to even a have a chance of approaching an original -- embracing the fact the story requires a hard-R to get told right. And for the first trailer for Spike Lee's take on the material, the studio is making it clear that they've gone right to the limit and then some in bringing it to American audiences. Now the question is: does it work?

Bryan Cranston & Elizabeth Olsen Are In Talks For Legendary's 'Godzilla' Reboot

Legendary Pictures' expensive "Godzilla" reboot has been having a rough time in the public eye of late. It's scheduled to go into production soon, but the production company is embroiled in two lawsuits; one with the producers Dan Lin, Roy Lee and Doug Davison who claim they are being booted from the monster movie by Legendary. It's near the 11th hour too and "The Shawshank Redemption," "Walking Dead" writer/director Frank Darabont was brought on board to do a final rewrite on the movie. And then there's the actors who have publicly passed on the lead role, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and others who have evidently been offered the lead (Aaron Johnson) who haven't responded in almost a month (our guess is Johnson also passed). So, is "Godzilla" in trouble? Or is it just business as usual with tentpoles that seem to put the horse before the cart these days?
