Shooting On 'Spider-Man' Starts In 2 WeeksBummer. Once the rising Emma Stone signed on for "Spider-Man" we sort of figured this would happen but held out a glimmer of hope that with "21 Jump Street" shooting early-ish next year (filming was pushed back slightly on the film), somehow she would be able to do both. But alas, Emma Stone will not be co-starring with Jonah Hill in "21 Jump Street."

Perhaps someone is a fan of FX's "Rescue Me" show? This writer hasn't seen it, but we hear it's rather engrossing. Anyhow, the show's creator and star Denis Leary has joined the cast of Marc Webb's 3D reboot of "Spider-Man."

"Easy A" was definitely one of our favorite comedies of the year. Led by a thoroughly charming Emma Stone in a starmaking turn, the film was the rare female-led comedy that was smart, witty and ridiculously fun and funny. We loved it to bits. So color us very excited that director Will Gluck isn't wasting any time in re-teaming with the very hot, and definitely on-the-rise actress to make another film.

A Career Move Now Known As 'Doing A Wahlberg'It feels like only a few weeks since we were expressing bafflement at the success of the career of Keanu-esque golem Channing Tatum, who's already worked with Michael Mann, Steven Soderbergh and Kevin Macdonald, and been praised by the likes of Nicolas Winding Refn. So we won't dwell on it here. Instead, we'd like to praise the guy for a second, because, like fellow heartthrobs Joseph Gordon-Levitt and James Franco, you can certainly say that it's hard to predict the actor's next move.

Let Bartlett Be Bartlett Ben We're going to come out and say this now -- we're in an uncharacteristically optimistic mood about the "Spider-Man" reboot. Aside from the excellent middle chapter, Sam Raimi's films were fairly disappointing, so it's not like there's room for improvement. There's a script by James Vanderbilt, who pulled off one of the toughest adaptations in recent memory in "Zodiac," and director Marc Webb is not only more talented than "(500) Days of Summer" might immediately suggest, but he also seems to be going about the project in the right way.

Yesterday you got a not-so-great looking first peek (bad photo scan) of a blonde Emma Stone in "The Help." Today, DreamWorks has released a batch of new photos and an official synopsis as well.

Ok, we'll readily admit, this is a pretty crappy scan (though thank you, reader, we still appreciate) and we'll replace it when we get a better one, but if you've ever wanted to see what a blond, curly-haired Emma Stone would look like, here's your first chance. It might not be online yet, but in the pages of Entertainment Weekly, there's quite the sizable article on "The Help," the film adaptation of Kathryn Stockett's novel about African American maids working in white households in Jackson, Mississippi during the early 1960s.
