Colin Farrell, True Detective
“The two scripts we have … I hate to jinx it … they are more exciting than the first season,” HBO programming president Michael Lombardo bold said at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills yesterday about the second season of "True Detective." (via EW) But the question on everybody's mind is: who is going to take over from the fantastic performances by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson? Well, we might have our answer.

Unbroken
"I wasn't really looking for something of this size," Angelina Jolie told the LA Times earlier this year about taking on "Unbroken" for her sophomore directorial feature. "But the way Laura [Hillenbrand] writes about him is the way I like to read about people. It was like I was witnessing the birth of a man — it was something I wanted to tell my sons about."

Lullaby
Death is taken for granted way too often in movies. If someone could measure the average time spent on a character death in a modern Hollywood film, we’d wager it would be less than five minutes and even that feels generous. Actor and producer Andrew Levitas’ debut as a director goes a long way into correcting that by setting his story at death’s door and placing the viewer in the personal center of it.

Lullaby
This weekend brings "The Fault In Our Stars" (our review), the twee story of two teens, with cancer, who fall in love, all while the story builds to a climax that will require you to have a box of Kleenex at your side, at the ready. But if you have some hankies left over, perhaps you can save them for "Lullaby."

Lullaby, Garett Hedlund
Yeah, we know, we forgot about this one too. Waaaaay back in 2012 — yep, two years ago — it was announced that Garrett Hedlund, Amy Adams, Richard Jenkins, Terrence Howard, Jennifer Hudson and Jessica Brown-Findlay were making a movie called "Lullaby." Cool story bro, and like everyone else, it was wiped from our memory. Well the thing was filmed and usually, if a movie starring this kind of ensemble takes forever to arrive, and once it does, its in the hands of a tiny indie distributor, the results probably aren't so hot. And now you can judge for yourself, as the first trailer is here.

With "Terminator 5" aka "Terminator: Genesis" now rolling in earnest and headed to the smorgasbord of sequels coming in 2015, the project is taking shape. Jason Clarke and Emilia Clarke are on board to play John and Sarah Connor in the movie with Alan Taylor ("Game of Thrones," "Thor: The Dark World") to direct. So who are the filmmakers looking for next? Kyle Reese.

Inside Llewyn Davis Justin Timberlake Oscar Isaac
Long hours on the road, sleeping on sofas, eating very little, playing shows for little money; it's a wonder why anyone struggles to make it as a musician. But for Llewyn Davis (Oscar Isaac) there really isn't any other option to playing music. "...And what, just exist?" he counters, when his sister suggests he stops couch surfing, borrowing money and barely getting by, and re-enter the Merchant Marine. While Llewyn can't quite put into words the passion that sustains an existence perpetually on the fringes, hustling for the next dollar, it's that weary energy that drives the Coen brothers' "Inside Llewyn Davis."

The year 2013 may have flew by fast, but not if you’re a fan of the Coen Brothers. The first trailer for “Inside Llewyn Davis” dropped this past January, then the film had its first private screening the following month, and then made its festival premiere at Cannes in May. Since then, unless you’ve been lucky enough to see it during its festival run, you have had to wait throughout the entire calendar year to catch a glimpse of this film. Thankfully, a whole boatload of promotional materials have just been dropped so you can keep yourself occupied until the film finally lands at a theater near you.

Inside Llewyn Davis
It's cold out, he doesn't have a winter coat, his record label isn't pushing his solo record, the folk scene is changing around him and his ex-girlfriend is pregnant. Things aren't going so well for Llewyn Davis but through thick and thin, the musician has his music and it's the thread that strings together "Inside Llewyn Davis," the Coen brothers' beautifully, hilariously melancholy look at one artist trying to break through.
