We're a little more than two weeks away from the world premiere of Marvel's "The Avengers" on April 11th, which can only mean one thing for the comic company and fledgling movie studio: the start of phase two of their plans. Everything so far, from 2008's "Iron Man" to last year's "Captain America: The First Avenger" has been moving towards their ambitious, Joss Whedon-helmed team-up movie, but with that film almost in theaters, their further plans remain mostly under wraps.

Upon seeing the new Japanese trailer for "The Avengers," you'll have to agree that there's something about the visuals that blends better when underlined by an indecipherable Japanese narrator. Our latest peek at the superhero epic might be our clearest showcase yet, utiziling footage from the previous trailers while debuting a bit more of its own. Notably, several scenes from the first clips associated with the film return, but this time souped up with the addition of some special effects providing added context. To paraphrase Luke Wilson in "Idiocracy," now you know whose ass is farting, and why.

It's hard to believe that up until now, "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy hasn't tried to bring his musical success to the big screen. Instead, he went traveling around the world with Julia Roberts (who wouldn't?!) in "Eat Pray Love," and is developing the AIDS drama "The Normal Heart." But it seems he hasn't left big, gaudy numbers behind as he's gearing up a star studded musical to destroy your ears.

Bill Murray, Gwyneth Paltrow, Anjelica Houston & Noah Baumbach Discuss Film At NYFF 10th Anniversary ScreeningThe 49th New York Film Festival is wrapping up this weekend and there have already been many highlights but there are still a few more films left to screen. Arguably one of the most anticipated events of this year’s NYFF wasn't a premiere at all but rather a film that had its world premiere at the festival a decade ago, Wes Anderson's "The Royal Tenenbaums." The now-classic film features probably the director’s starriest cast to date, and he brought along a few of those cast members for a special 10th Anniversary Screening on Thursday night. Just prior to the screening Anderson gathered before a few hundred fans at The Apple Store a few blocks from Lincoln Center for a Q&A in their Meet The Filmmaker series (moderated by our own editor-in-chief Rodrigo Perez) before heading down to Alice Tully Hall to introduce the screening, this time joined by Bill Murray, Gwyneth Paltrow and Anjelica Huston along with his brother Eric Chase Anderson, who provided all of Ritchie’s artwork in the film.

Stuart Blumberg's career really took off last year. While the screenwriter did have good credits to his name (the terminally underrated teen comedy “The Girl Next Door,” and "Keeping the Faith," starring his good friend Edward Norton), he wasn't exactly a household name. By the end of the year, that would all radically change and he became the acclaimed screenwriter behind Lisa Cholodenko's "The Kids Are All Right," and shortly thereafter he had earned himself his first Original Screenplay Oscar nomination.

Disaster -- an eternally popular obsession of film. Audiences have turned up in droves over the last century or so to watch mankind against their own extinction in the form of meteorites, earthquakes, alien invasions, exploding suns, planetary collisions, and whatever it was that was happening in "The Core." One of the more popular hypotheses is that when the end comes -- and it will -- it'll be not with a bang, but with a whimper. And that's what Steven Soderbergh has examined in "Contagion," his first studio film since 2007's "Ocean's Thirteen," that finds the spread of a deadly bird flu-type virus the source of man's demise.

When you have big names like Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Marion Cotillard, Laurence Fishburne, plus acclaimed figures like Emmy-winner Bryan Cranston and Oscar-nominee John Hawkes in your film, most studios would plaster their faces all over the one-sheet. Warner Bros has, as yet, not taken that approach with "Contagion" (though we're sure its coming), the latest film from Steven Soderbergh, a dark, realistic look at the global spread of a bird-flu-like virus.

After singing in "Country Strong" and on "Glee," Gwyneth Paltrow isn't going to stop until everyone on the planet has heard her sing a song from the former or her version of Cee-Lo's "Fuck You" which she sang on the latter.
