X-Men: Days Of Future Past
It would seem that Empire has a hotline right to the good stuff when it comes to "X-Men: Days Of Future Past." Earlier this week, they debuted an (absurd) 25 magazine covers featuring the cast of characters from the upcoming superhero pileup (including one for Rogue, who has been cut from the movie), and now they've got a handful of new stills from the flick.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past
Bryan Singer’s upcoming "X-Men Days Of Future Past" can likely be seen in two different ways: either you’re anticipating the hell out of this movie with its ultimate X-Men fanboy-driven cast of characters or you’re generally worried that a movie with over 25 super heroes and villains is going to be one big disaster.

Prisoners
Written by Aaron Guzikowski, “Prisoners” is a dark crime drama about revenge, sin and the pond-drop ripples of violence. It is also, thanks to cinematography giant Roger Deakins, one of the most evocatively shot films of 2013, and features the single shot that we deemed our favorite of 2013 — the "Tree Shot," for want of a more descriptive name, that tells us nothing at all and everything we need all at once.

While last month word surfaced that Javier Bardem was being offered the villain role in Joe Wright's big studio flick, "Pan." We wondered if that deal would pan out (ha!) considering Bardem doesn't really do the tentpole thing very often, and indeed our instincts were right.

If you've ever wondered what a contract renegotiation sounds like, well these latest comments from Andrew Garfield should be a guide. Even though Sony has already spun a web of plans all the way through to "The Amazing Spider-Man 4," which has a release date set for May 4, 2018, to hear it from Andrew Garfield, he's not going to go the distance as Peter Parker.

Oscars: 10 Overlooked Actors
In the few weeks since we put a spotlight on the Best Actor race, a competitive field has only tightened further. Robert Redford, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Matthew McConaughey and Tom Hanks have only firmed up their status as near-certain nominees, and if there was any doubt that Bruce Dern would pick up a nod, the actor's fierce campaigning makes it more and more likely that it'll come to pass. Short of a real shock, or a swell of momentum for late entrants Christian Bale ("American Hustle") or Leonardo DiCaprio ("The Wolf Of Wall Street"), those will likely be your five nominees come January.

If you needed any confirmation of Hugh Jackman's range of interests, all you have to do is look at the last three films that have all arrived in less than a year: the musical "Les Miserables," the comic tentpole "The Wolverine" and this fall's hit thriller "Prisoners." So of course, it's only natural the new talk around the actor revolves around another musical, and mysterious sci-fi comedy.

I'm not sure what a new multi-touch eBook is or what it has to do with the upcoming Blu-ray release of "The Wolverine," but that high tech gadget contains one very interesting deleted scene that will be of particular interest to die-hard fans of the character.

Hugh Jackman James Mangold The Wolverine
“I wasn’t even sure after the first [stand-alone] film if I would do another,” Hugh Jackman said about returning for another "The Wolverine" movie in the run-up to this summer's film. “I won’t say never, because I’m still loving it. But there would have to be a pretty compelling reason.” And while those compelling reasons are yet to be declared, it's probably a safe bet that the movie's $413 million worldwide haul—making it the second best performing X-Men movie ever—has something to do with it.
