Isabel Lucas Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen
Over the past few months, some of the actors who stopped by the set of Terrence Malick's "Knight Of Cups" have shared their unique experiences working on the movie. Joel Kinnaman described having to deal with a seventeen-page monologue, Cate Blanchett called it a "quasi-religious" experience, Teresa Palmer talked about Malick's method of "torpedoing" the actors, and Antonio Banderas thinks he's made the final cut, though some of the material he doesn't even remember shooting. And now another actress reveals that she too has probably survived the editing process, but adds that we'll perhaps be waiting much longer to see the finished product.

Electric Slide Jim Sturgess
Eddie Dodson (Jim Sturgess) is a dandyish incorrigible playboy. He parties, indulges in blow and comes and goes as he pleases with an insouciant urbane air. And while his chic antique store is a hit in L.A., even attracting local celebrities, Dodson is dead broke. Sleeping with bored and disenfranchised rich socialites doesn’t pay the bills either. His drug habit seems manageable, but what is no longer tenable is the deep debt he owes to ruthless, local loan sharks whose patience has run dry. Faced with no other options – these gangsters will rub Dodson out if he doesn’t bring their dough – the desperate but charming swindler decides to rob banks.

The American Film Market is in full swing at the moment, and back at the event in 2009, “The Electric Slide” was being shopped to potential buyers with a mocked up poster featuring its attached stars, Ewan McGregor and Carey Mulligan. Fast-forward three years and the film is back at the AFM where Myriad Pictures has taken on sales duties for the flick, which is now being top-lined by Jim Sturgess and Isabel Lucas.

First up in a bit of a casting round-up today is news that Aussie actress Isabel Lucas (“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” and maybe Terrence Malick’s “Knight of Cups” if she makes the final cut) has signed up for “Careful What You Wish For.” The film will follow a self-conscious high school student who gets more than he bargained for when he starts an affair with the wife of a businessman (the role we’re assuming Lucas has taken), and discovers a devastating secret after a serious crime rocks their small town. Directed by Elizabeth Allen (“Aquamarine,” “Ramona and Beezus”), the film is described as a “sexy thriller reminiscent of “Basic Instinct,”” but we’d be surprised if Lucas lays herself quite as bare as Sharon Stone did.

The past couple of years have seen more than a few long-delayed films finally being released, including last year’s “The Tree of Life” and “Margaret” and this year’s “Cabin in the Woods.” And now we have the first footage from the remake of the '80s America-under-siege film, “Red Dawn,” albeit in butchered form from Entertainment Tonight.
