But Baz Luhrmann is taking the American classic off the bookshelf and onto the big screen in a way that only he knows how, and as these new character posters reveal, no expense has been spared in the costume department.

Next summer is, as usual, going to be competitive; there's the usual mix of superhero sequels ("Iron Man 3," "The Wolverine"), animated sequels ("Monsters University,""Despicable Me 2"), R-rated comedy sequels ("The Hangover Part III") and just general sequels ("Star Trek Into Darkness," "Fast & Furious 6," "Kick-Ass 2"). As such, original fare is going to have a trickier time of it, but Summit is getting started early with their magician heist movie "Now You See Me," debuting a trailer in front of their golden goose "Twilight" this weekend.

Isla Fisher Making 'The Switch' To 'Jackie Brown' Prequel

Let’s straighten some things out. Quentin Tarantino’s 1997 film “Jackie Brown” -- which starred Robert De Niro and Samuel L. Jackson -- was based on Elmore Leonard’s 1992 novel “Rum Punch.” Now first time filmmaker Dan Schechter is mounting an adaptation of Leonard’s 1978 novel “The Switch,” which follows younger versions of the characters portrayed by De Niro and Jackson, who will now be portrayed by in their youth by John Hawkes and Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def). Got it? Good. Isla Fisher is the latest actor in talks to join what will essentially be a prequel to Tarantino’s film.

Just when you thought you couldn’t be any more excited for the return of “Arrested Development,” Mitch Hurwitz goes ahead and casts Isla Fisher and Terry Crews. There’s no news on who they’ll be playing, whose episodes they will be in, or even how many episodes they’ll be in, but we’re excited by their involvment nonetheless. They’re both people we really like who know how to be funny, and if the show’s track-record is anything to go by, we’re sure they’ll be given brilliantly bizarre guest roles.

And while that film told the story of marriage and it's effect on friendship from the engagement right to the wedding day, it missed one key component of that whole arc. When it was announced that Baz Luhrmann would be directing a film version of F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby," anyone who knew the Australian director's work sort of knew what to expect. They might not have guessed that he'd make the whole thing in 3D (which he has), but they knew you'd get something lavish, operatic and heavily styilized, with party scenes that finally lived up to some of Fitzgerald's descriptions.
