Paul Haggis' next film, "Third Person," seems to be moving onward in fits and starts. With sporadic updates throughout last year, this spring the movie started firmly moving foward when Liam Neeson and Olivia Wilde boarded, with Jude Law rumored for a part as well and then....not much else. But it seems the wheels are turning once again with some exciting new names now ready to lend their talents.

Well, you gotta give the folks over at advertising firm Cheil USA a hand, because if you're going to come up with a campaign around the Samsung Galaxy Note touting its multitasking capabalities, there are few celebrities more equipped to deliver that message than James Franco. Hell, in the past week or so alone we've seen a pretty shitty trailer for the indie flick "The Letter" (quantity isn't always quality), and learned that he's casting up his feature film adapatation of William Faulkner's "As I Lay Dying" and producing some kind of art project about fame riffing on himself and Lindsay Lohan.

Who are you, James Franco? In his never-ending quest to defy convention, Franco recently picked up a role in actioner "Homefront," written by Sylvester Stallone and starring Jason Statham, returned to TV for four episodes of "Hollywood Heights," and will cameo later this year in "Lovelace" as Hugh Hefner, as well as appear in the seemingly-shot-in-a-weekend thriller "The Letter." With starring roles in Sam Raimi's "Oz: The Great and Powerful" and Harmony Korine's "Spring Breakers" set for 2013, what's next for Franco? How about teaming up with Lindsay Lohan (sort of) for a film about themselves while also directing an adaptation of William Faulkner's "As I Lay Dying?"

It’s been awhile since Winona Ryder, star of a vast array of films from “Edward Scissorhands” to “Girl Interrupted,” has really taken the lead in a picture – lately she’s mostly been a supporting player in films like “Black Swan,” “Star Trek,” and her upcoming reteaming with director Tim Burton on the stop-motion “Frankenweenie.” Unfortunately, if the trailer for her upcoming return to leading lady status “The Letter” is any indication of the film that follows, we’re not quite sure we’re ready to have her back.

The last major additions to this year's Toronto International Film Festival have been unveiled, and unsurprisingly, along with the new world premieres, there's several films from the Venice line-up, which kicks off the week before. Along with the already announced "The Master" and "To The Wonder," Torontoites will also get to see Brian DePalma's "Passion" and Harmony Korine's "Spring Breakers," both of which are set to bow on the Lido the week before.

Where does using your sexuality to make money end and pornography begin? Can a young woman make it in the adult film industry and come out unscathed, and are the sacrifices in your personal life worth it for the potential wealth and fast track to a better social status? Those are some of the questions asked in "About Cherry," an indie film that takes viewers into the world of the triple-x-rated scene.

The last few actioners in Jason Statham's CV have been pretty disappointing, box office-wise. But can you blame the audience? It's hard to find the proper enemy for the musclebound Brit, with him taking out Aiden GIllen in "Blitz," smacking up faceless mafia goons in "Safe" and eating Clive Owen's lunch in "Killer Elite." But thanks to an assist from "The Expendables" buddy Sylvester Stallone, Statham's about to match up with Hollywood's great puzzle box that is James Franco.

When making a film about a seedier career path – for instance, stripping in Steven Soderbergh’s excellent summer fling “Magic Mike” – it’s important to approach the topic with a delicate and nuanced touch. Our writer on the scene at Berlinale 2012 didn’t exactly find that to be the case with porn career flick “About Cherry,” writing it off as a film that “tries hard to provoke us into reassessing the porn industry, but is so ham-fisted that the result is not a look on the bright side, but a whitewash.”

You want to know how far the branches of the Judd Apatow tree go? Just look at the cast of "The End Of The World." Not only does it feature pretty much the regular Apatow players including Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, Jay Baruchel and Jason Segel, it also features friends and celebs like Michael Cera, Aziz Ansari, Emma Watson and Rihanna. In short, anybody even vaguely related to Apatow's circle will probably pop up as the movie continues rolling, and speaking of which, the first set pics have landed.
