Marvel sure does like their British and Aussie actors. With "Guardians Of The Galaxy" now less than two years from release, the studio is starting to get the cast in place for what is easily the most ambitious project on their slate (it has an alien tree creature and a pistol-wielding, talking raccoon, guys), and a ridiculously long laundry list of actors have been revealed as possibilities to star.

Whatever happened to discreetly getting a hotel room? Or putting a pool table, a big screen TV and a jukebox in your basement, calling it a mancave and inviting your friends over? For the dudes in "Loft," an American remake of a 2008 Belgian film, cheating on their wives requires a serious commitment (unlike their marriages, we suppose), which includes pooling their resources into what one character accurately calls a "fuckpad."

The list of actors who have portrayed John F. Kennedy on the big and small screen over the years is eclectic to say the least. Folks as varied as Greg Kinnear, Martin Donovan, Bruce Greenwood, William Petersen and even Bruce Campbell have taken on the former president's accent and enunciation to varying degrees of success. Now, James Marsden is going to give it a whirl.

Hugo Weaving continues to switch up big blockbusters and smaller minded fare, and this time he's headed to Australia to star in "Mystery Road" alongside "True Blood" hunk Ryan Kwanten, Jack Thompson, Tony Barry, Tasma Walton, Damian Walshe-Howling, David Field, Trisha Whitton and Siobhan Binge. Written and directed by Ivan Sen ("Toomelah"), the picture will tell the story of an indigenous detective who returns home to find out who killed an indigenous girl. Kwanten will play a pig hunter while Thompson takes the role of an out to pasture pastoralist. Filming is already underway and Aussie distribution is locked up, but if you're an international buyer, give Arclight Films a ring.

No, this isn't "The Grey 2" but it might as well be. If Liam Neeson and a bunch of dudes fleeing some wolves in "The Grey" isn't enough for now, another man vs. nature tale is on the way, albeit with a slightly more B-level cast.

"They're practically licking my body outside," Kate Bosworth says to her husband James Marsden in Rod Lurie's controversial remake of Sam Peckinpah's "Straw Dogs." Controversial because "Straw Dogs," an incredibly haunting and challenging domestic drama and psychological thriller by Peckinpah, is (rightfully) considered a masterpiece. So many have asked, what's the point in remaking it? The original is an amazing examination at masculinity and male emasculation -- in that sense the latter point is almost a cautionary horror tale for men.

Well, we'll give this one points for bonkers casting because when you have a movie where James Marsden plays Charles Manson that's...something. But we're getting ahead of ourselves.

There's been a lot of movement surrounding the Farrelly Brothers' remake of "The Three Stooges," starting last year when the project moved from MGM to Fox, getting a fresh cast (Sean Penn, Jim Carrey and Benicio Del Toro were attached in the long-gestating earlier incarnation). Just last month, Johnny Knoxville was supposed to have Moe nailed down, but that turned out to be just a rumor. But the first cast member has now been locked down. EW reports that Will Sasso has officially been cast as Curly (recent reports pegged him as Moe).

Belgium: a nation known, in the US at least, more for its waffles than for its cinema. In recent years, the Dardenne Brothers have made some waves (and how!), but for the most part, the country's probably best known in the film world for 1992's "Man Bites Dog," and as being the birthplace of Jean-Claude Van Damme. Not that they're incapable of producing a homegrown hit: the thriller "Loft" became the biggest-grossing Flemish-language film of all time when it was released back in 2008, and now it looks like it's heading for a remake.
