What We Do In The Shadows
Vampires are a particularly versatile cinematic creature, easily able to transform and readjust to the scenario or metaphoric requirement. Over the past few years they have shown up on the big screen in a number of guises—sparkly lovelorn teenagers, brooding old world counts, Colin Farrell—but a vampire comedy is a more difficult nut to crack (or vein to drain). In the summer of 2012, not even the combined might of Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, and the "Dark Shadows" television series could make a blood-sucking comedy connect with broad audiences. Thankfully, "What We Do In The Shadows," the new vampire comedy from "Flight of the Conchords" principles Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, is a refreshing, laugh-out-loud funny picture that is perfectly happy with its somewhat niche appeal. It goes in late, it gets out early, and it's a total hoot.

A troubled production, a brutal soundtrack song by Pitbull and a couple of deflated trailers later, "Men In Black III" is headed to theaters with all the excitement of a wet blanket on a cold night. But when you round up a cast that includes Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Emma Thompson, Alice Eve and Bill Hader (among many others) it's easy to be a little curious, even if the time-jumping concept is a bit ridiculous.

After screening “Boy” for the first time in the United States since January 2010 at the Sundance Film Festival, writer-director-actor Taika Waititi had only one thing to say: “Thanks for watching this film in a space-age room.”

Actor-writer-director-comedian Taika Waititi has been rising quickly in certain circles. He followed his critically-acclaimed directorial debut "Eagle Vs. Shark" with the coming-of-age dramedy "Boy," the highest grossing film in New Zealand history, slated to make it's stateside debut this March. With all involved interested in forgetting his comic relief turn in front of the camera for "Green Lantern," Waititi is eager to return to the director's chair, and has two projects currently brewing. And for writing help, he's enlisted his somewhat more higher profile "Eagle Vs. Shark" leading man Jemaine Clement.

A trailer for the "Men In Black 3" hit just before Christmas and mostly focused on the time-jumping storyline and Josh Brolin's eerie Tommy Lee Jones impersonation, but we didn't see much in the way of creatures or a villain (probably because VFX are still being worked on). Well, now a peek at the baddie has surfaced.
