While her better half has more or less upstaged her in recent times, Jessica Biel looks to be going through a bit of renaissance this year featuring in Len Wiseman's "Total Recall" remake as well as Pascal Laugier's "The Tall Man." Now there's a high-profile project to add to that list with the actress joining 'Story Of Anvil!' director Sacha Gervasi's "Alfred Hitchcock And The Making Of Psycho."

As it turns out, losing Rooney Mara wasn't so bad. Originally attached to the lead role but bowing out for younger, more age appropriate and recently cast "Skins" star Kaya Scodelario, "Tanner Hall" co-director Francesca Gregorini's "Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes" is getting a pretty nice boost of star power.

If you've managed to make it through two hours of "New Year's Eve" with the idea that it's about anything more than box office returns and home entertainment bank, Warner Bros., New Line and director Garry Marshall are more than happy to set you straight. In a largely unfunny series of credits bloopers, Jessica Biel's character gives birth to twins, and she couldn't be happier to have "Valentine's Day" pop out of her vagina in both DVD and Blu-ray formats (on sale now!). We're not naive enough to imagine that studio films are purely about artistry (and not cynical enough to think that it's never present), but we wish those behind "New Year's Eve" had at least pretended they were trying to entertain us while they rummage through our pockets for loose change.

The audience gets a glimpse of where they are--and where they are in relation to each other--each year on that day, creating 23 mini-films in one. Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale & Bryan Cranston Talk Remaking A Wacko Sci-Fi ClassicAfter "30 Minutes or Less" at yesterday's Columbia panel at Comic-Con 2011, "Total Recall" stars Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale, Bryan Cranston and director Len Wiseman took the stage to show footage and field questions from the audience. “We’re halfway through shooting so we don’t have enough to put together a trailer, but I know not seeing something is a big bummer. So it’s the first sequence we shot; it’s a scene, it’s very rough, and it’s cut together with a lot of pre-vis.” Although he was certainly correct that the footage was incomplete, it clearly echoed the early sequence from the 1990 film where Arnold Schwarzenegger, as Doug Quaid, visited Rekall in order to have a memory implanted, only to awaken to an entirely different reality.

Kate Beckinsale & Jessica Biel ConfirmedBill Nighy loves to work but his quality meter is all over the place. For every "State Of Play" (the original Brit series) or "The Constant Gardener" there's a "G-Force" or "Underworld." Big or small, the actor will seemingly to do it all as long as there is a craft services table and a paycheck. Or if it's directed by Len Wiseman.

The Weinstein Company may have another Oscar darling on their hands. A year after grabbing $400 million worldwide and scads of major awards for “The King’s Speech,” The Brothers W paid $7 million for the domestic rights (via Deadline) to another film about British aristocracy, nabbing “The Iron Lady” starring Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher. Producers only showed five minutes of the film before the bidding started between the Weinsteins, Summit and Relativity, though all someone had to say was “Streep as Thatcher” to ensure this would be a major purchase and, as planned by TWC, a high profile late ‘11 release. Expect it to be a big dog in the awards race.

Planning To Adapt Stage Play 'All New People' Into A Feature FilmFor a moment there, the world seemed be his oyster for Zach Braff. The "Scrubs" star wrote and directed the mega indie hit "Garden State" which not only did gangbusters at the box office, but also spawned a best-selling soundtrack that suddenly had music supervisors everywhere looking at independent labels to find the music for their films. And then...Braff seemed to fade into the background a bit. He returned to his hit show and outside of "The Last Kiss" didn't do too much film work and found his sophomore directorial effort tough to get off the ground. But it looks like this year, Braff is going to be coming back in a big way. He stars in "The High Cost Of Living" which is now available on VOD and he's lining up a couple of more films, both of which are news to us.
