We love ya, Marty, but forgive us if we don't hold on breath on this one, as potentially awesome as it could be. For years now, the director and his longtime friend and collaborator Robert De Niro have been talking up "The Irishman," a project that would mark their first director/actor collaboration since 1995's "Casino." And while we've already sat through promises that it would shoot in 2011, it seems plans are taking a more definitive shape.

We've always been a little skeptical about the gestating "Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father" if only because the producers, Fiore Films, have somewhat improbably lined up a cast that includes John Travolta, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci despite the fact their only other produced film to date is this. Where were they getting the kind of scratch to get this big stars into play? How would the filmmakers whose only movie thus far is straight-to-video National Lampoon's comedy manage to make something solid of a film about one of the most notorious gangsters of our generation? Why did they use Lindsay Lohan to drum up press for the film by pretending they were going to cast her? Well, to hear it from Pesci, empty promises seem to be par for the course with these guys.

We'll hand it to producer Marc Fiore. For his second movie "Gotti: Three Generations" -- following National Lampoon's "One, Two, Many" -- he's actually lining up some pretty interesting talent all around. With Nick Cassavetes signed on to direct and John Travolta in the lead role, one more actor has come aboard with a tabloid-ready name waiting in the wings.

What a reunion this could possibly be: Veteran actor Harvey Keitel is now reported to also be on board with Martin Scorsese's upcoming adaptation of "I Heard You Paint Houses" -- titled "The Irishman" -- which already boasts a Scorsese Who's Who cast of Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci.

Formerly known as "I Heard You Paint Houses" -- and retitled "The Irishman" -- this potential Martin Scorsese vehicle has been in the works for a while, but recently it seems to have picked up steam. Back in September it was reported that the "Raging Bull," "Goodfellas" and "Casino" duo of Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci were joining the project and it now seems it might happen a lot sooner than we thought.

Actor Confirms That Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci Are In Talks, Will Play His Father & Uncle If you'd told us at the beginning of the year that 2010 would see David O. Russell sign on to an adaptation of the Playstation videogame "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune," we'd have nodded politely, and then dismissed everything you had to say after that. But rumors emerged in the summer that Russell, fresh off his comeback film "The Fighter," was circling the project, and he finally signed on last month. Not long after, another crazy rumor surfaced -- that Russell had moved the globetrotting adventure, at least in part, to the world of New York antiques, and that he was seeking Mark Wahlberg, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci to star in the film.

Mark Wahlberg May Be Interested As WellSo bear in mind, this is from Roger Friedman, the same guy who saw Tony Gilroy at a screening for "127 Hours" and spun a haphazard rumor that he wanted James Franco to lead "The Bourne Legacy."
