It premiered at Sundance earlier this year and played at the Directors' Fortnight last month at Cannes, but it seems Sebastian Silva’s “Magic Magic” will not be playing at a theater near you. Instead, it’s going straight to DVD. What’s up with that? Either way, the first official trailer for the psychological thriller has just been posted online, giving you a taste of what the film’s all about.

The Cannes Film Festival is just around the corner and, as usual, clips from some of the prospective films are starting to make their way to the internet. One such film, which is premiering at the Directors’ Fortnight, is “Magic Magic.” Directed by Sebastian Silva (“The Maid”) and starring Michael Cera, Juno Temple, and Emily Browning, the film already made its North American debut at Sundance earlier this year.

Review: 'The Brass Teapot' Is More Modest Trinket Than Rare Find

Ramma Mosley's “The Brass Teapot," based on a screenplay by Tim Macy, who wrote the short story and the 2007 short film that served as a jumping-off point for this feature, tries hard to be a moral fable, a reflection of today's challenging economic tides and the college graduates weathering them with limited success. With the help of a talented cast, “The Brass Teapot” is able to coast on charm for the first hour, but then the fairytale idea that powers the film runs out of juice, and the last forty-five minutes hurtle toward a wrap-up that feels both awkward and overwrought, needlessly portentous and arriving much too late. Leads Michael Angarano and especially firecracker Juno Temple are the reason to keep watching, but even they cannot breathe life into a compelling concept stretched too thin.

Sundance Review: Stripper Comedy 'Afternoon Delight' Plays Rough But Will Leave You With A Smile On Your Face

The premise of “Afternoon Delight,” admittedly, does not sound terribly appealing: to spice up their sex life, a Silverlake couple goes for a night out at a gentleman’s club and subsequently take in a stripper in need of help. From that logline alone you can glean that their relatively buttoned-up sex lives will get a jolt of temporary excitement, the threat of infidelity will loom larger in their house and this will undoubtedly turn out to be a very big mistake for all of them. Unfortunately for those who may have skipped out on the film because of its broad premise, “Afternoon Delight” is one of the unexpected highlights of this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

2013 could prove to be the year of Robert Rodriguez. The prolific filmmaker has always been uber-productive, but this year, we'll get a double dose: he'll have two films hit theaters a month apart of each other. The first, "Machete Kills" will land in theaters on September 13th via Open Road and and then four weeks later, Dimension Films' "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" will follow. And with cameras rolling on the highly anticipated follow-up to "Sin City," three more actors have joined the cast.

While a big chunk of the movie world is turning its eye towards Park City, for the rest of the industry it's still business as usual. Starring Juno Temple and Michael Angarano, "The Brass Teapot," was acquired by Magnolia Pictures last fall after it premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. The picture is making its theatrical release this spring and we're debuting the official poster. Directed by Ramaa Mosley (the 2008 short, "Exquisite Corpse"), Temple and Angarano star as a young, poor, newly married couple who find a magic teapot that grants them cash for pain.

Aside from a brief appearance in Mark Webber's "The End Of Love," it has been two long years since we've last seen Michael Cera on the big screen. Of course, that was in Edgar Wright's "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," and while 2013 will see him once take on the role that made him famous, that of George Michael Bluth in "Arrested Development," he's got two feature projects that will likely shake up his image. He's been hanging out a lot lately with "The Maid" director Sebastian Silva, and they've been productive. The comedy "Crystal Fairy" has already been slotted for the Sundance Film Festival, but now the other one is being called up, the much higher-profile "Magic Magic."

Even though they have an Oscar under their belt for Alexander Payne's "The Descendants," screenwriters Nat Faxon and Jim Rash will be at Park City next month as newbie directors, with their feature debut "The Way, Way Back" ready to unpsool. We got our first look at the movie in August, but now another new snap has arrived of Sam Rockwell, who stars in the flick alongside a pretty solid cast including Steve Carell, Maya Rudolph, AnnaSophia Robb, Allison Janney, Rob Corddry and more. Here's the synopsis: Duncan, an introverted 14-year-old, comes into his own over the course of a comedic summer when he forms unlikely friendships with the gregarious manager of a rundown water park and the misfits who work there.

Just the other day we were wondering when they were going to finish rounding out the cast for Alexandre Aja's adaptation of Joe Hill's wonderfully unsettling novel "Horns." Well, today seems to be that day, as The Wrap is reporting Juno Temple, Joe Anderson and Kelli Garner have now joined Daniel Radcliffe and Max Minghella in the cast. That's a spookily good line-up.

There's a misconception about some films that utilize a specific location by gussying it up to be a paradise on camera. Often, the results are "Little Birds," which was shot on location at the Salton Sea of California, a formative place for impetuous Lily (Juno Temple) and Alison (Kay Panabaker). The two teenage girls, both the result of trailer park lifestyles, spend their days visiting the saltine beach, admiring the view and dreaming of boys, handsome dark types who will whisk them away to what can be considered the "big city." They appreciate the picturesque landscape, as does the camera. Does the filmmaker?
