The Social Network
Remember when you could poke people on Facebook? Or how about the first time someone liked your status update? It's hard to believe, but today Facebook celebrates it's tenth birthday, with the site officially launched on February 4, 2004. And it can be easy to forget how massively Mark Zuckerberg's site reshaped the way we interact online and infiltrated pop culture, and so, here's a reminder.

Inside Llewyn Davis Justin Timberlake Oscar Isaac
Long hours on the road, sleeping on sofas, eating very little, playing shows for little money; it's a wonder why anyone struggles to make it as a musician. But for Llewyn Davis (Oscar Isaac) there really isn't any other option to playing music. "...And what, just exist?" he counters, when his sister suggests he stops couch surfing, borrowing money and barely getting by, and re-enter the Merchant Marine. While Llewyn can't quite put into words the passion that sustains an existence perpetually on the fringes, hustling for the next dollar, it's that weary energy that drives the Coen brothers' "Inside Llewyn Davis."

The year 2013 may have flew by fast, but not if you’re a fan of the Coen Brothers. The first trailer for “Inside Llewyn Davis” dropped this past January, then the film had its first private screening the following month, and then made its festival premiere at Cannes in May. Since then, unless you’ve been lucky enough to see it during its festival run, you have had to wait throughout the entire calendar year to catch a glimpse of this film. Thankfully, a whole boatload of promotional materials have just been dropped so you can keep yourself occupied until the film finally lands at a theater near you.

Inside Llewyn Davis
While we live in a culture where numerous clips, photos and more land online weeks and months before a movie hits theaters, sometimes things are best experienced cold. And while you've likely already heard some rumblings about the performance of "Please Mr. Kennedy" in "Inside Llewyn Davis," if you can wait, we urge you to watch it first in the actual movie.

Runner Runner
While the conversation around the career rebound of Matthew McConaughey will continue this fall with "Dallas Buyers Club," many forget that it was 2011's "The Lincoln Lawyer" that gave the actor the first spring in his comeback step. On paper, it was a rather routine procedural, but it was elevated by director Brad Furman who shot it with some style and energy, and of course, McConaughey made his character leap off the page in the way few actors could. Which brings us to "Runner Runner," a movie that once again pairs Furman with a rather standard script, and though he does his best again to inject the proceedings with some spark and aided by a strong performance from a veteran actor, it doesn't quite graduate to the level of enjoyable pulp.

While it's not quite Batman versus Superman, we have to say we have some fascination with watching Ben Affleck play an unapologetically slimy villain and give Justin Timberlake a rough time, even if we're uncertain about "Runner Runner."

Runner Runner
The upcoming gambling drama "Runner, Runner." Your choices are: A) entertaining drama, B) total B-movie trash, or C) fun B-movie trash? It's really hard to tell, honestly. On one hand, it's written by the always reliable Brian Koppelman and David Levien ("Rounders," "The Girlfriend Experience," "Oceans Thirteen") and it's directed by Brad Furman whose 2011 effort "The Lincoln Laywer," starring Matthew McConaughey was easily the most fun trashy B-movie of that year -- a little silly, but downright entertaining.

Runner Runner
BATFFLECK! With the nerds in comic book stores still wringing their hands with worry over Daredevil (dudes, that was ten years ago) taking over the cape and cowl, audiences will get an early taste of Bad Ben in "Runner Runner" (we're presuming Batman will be a thorn in the side of Superman before they team up to save the world). And heading into the long weekend, a new clip, featurette and pics are here for the upcoming thriller.

While Ryan Gosling is already well on his way with his directorial debut "How To Catch A Monster," slated for release next year, things could have been very different. A couple years ago, Gosling was attached to star in and direct a remake of Taylor Hackford's lesser known 1980 film "The Idolmaker." Less than a month after signing on he dropped the gig citing a busy a schedule, but now someone else with singing and acting talent is going to give it a go.

Before Ben Affleck gambles with playing Batman in "Superman Vs. Batman" he'll be rolling the dice a whole different way with this fall's "Runner Runner." The slick little thriller has been keeping a low profile but with the release now just over a month away, things are starting to heat up.
