The talent involved in David O. Russell’s untitled Abscam project has swollen to such epic proportions in recent months with Jennifer Lawrence, Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner, Amy Adams, and Louis C. K. and it just keep growing. The latest actress to be cast, Elisabeth Rohm is probably most well known for her stint in the D.A.'s office on "Law & Order," and was last seen in the thriller “Transit.”

Review: 'Total Recall' A Derivative, Dim & Substance-Free Remake

A pastiche of almost too many movies to count as a remake of just one, “Total Recall” is mindless, middling fare that fails to utilize – much less expand – the provocative concepts at the core of its iconic 1990 predecessor. Len Wiseman, whose “Die Hard” sequel effectively betrayed every one of the central tenets of that franchise (save for the casting of Bruce Willis), applies his personality-free technical proficiency to a re-imagining whose focus on what’s cool in the moment consistently undermines what any of it collectively means, not to mention why the hell audiences should care. Passable but uninspiring except for a standout performance from the never-better Jessica Biel, “Total Recall” plays directly into the hands of metaphor-wielding critics eager to highlight how a movie about a man recovering his memory can manage to be quite so forgettable.

When it comes to promotion on Sony's remake of "Total Recall," actor Bryan Cranston is either suspiciously absent or only briefly included in the movie's trailers and TV spots. Of course, it seems criminal to keep the man who is Walter White a secret, especially since Cranston is playing the villain Cohaagen, a name famously screamed by Arnold Schwarzenegger in Paul Verhoeven's 1990 original. Finally, in the latest clip from the remake, Cranston has his chance to shine.

Last year at Comic-Con Len Wiseman and co. offered a tease of the anticipated remake of Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 sci-fi flick, “Total Recall.” Outside the San Diego Convention Center, sexy futuristic lady officers stood with guns beside a future cop car.

"Tell us the fantasy, we'll give you the memory." Ah, the good old mind-trip vacation gone awry, we've certainly all been there. Depending on your point of view, Len Wiseman's "Total Recall" remake starring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel might either look like a dark and entertaining thrill ride or well, potentially hysterical. Truthfully, while the aesthetics look rather impressive in a wannabe, contemporary "Blade Runner" sort of way, the the lie-within-the-lie narrative already looks like it could be extremely clunky or right on the nose. But we'll try and not write it off quite yet.

By this point, there isn't much left to reveal about Len Wiseman's "Total Recall." The trailers have made it clear it's going to be a pretty average sci-fi flick, granted, with some identity twisting traits, but nothing that has had us truly sitting up and taking notice. To recap, Colin Farrell is in the lead as Doug Quaid, a man who goes to get some false memories implanted in his brain but quickly becomes a target when he's mistaken as somebody else. Or is he? Reality and imagination blur as he tries to get to the bottom of what happened with Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, Bill Nighy and more along for the ride.

What's it like to have your memory scrubbed? Well, if the marketing team behind "Total Recall" do their job right, then you will have forgotten about the 1990 film directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. And they've pumped out a few more images to help get that job done.

Memo to the Academy: Next year, you might want to get the writing staff of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" to write jokes for the show, because this nine-minute bit is funnier than anything that happened at the Oscars last night.
