What is there to say, analytically, about “Movie 43”? Not released in theaters as much as inexplicably materializing in front of our very eyes, “Movie 43” has no moral, no overarching story, and no point other than the opportunity for Hollywood stars to play silly for a short while. Some of them relish this – a few of the performers are a natural at studied wackiness. Some aren’t as comfortable. Others just seem like they’re passing the time. The filmmakers who collaborated on this anthology film, however, mostly fit that last description. Despite the title, this… thing…is barely a movie.

While she did star in the then-biggest movie of all time, in "Titanic," Kate Winslet has, before and since, stayed away from franchise territory. The closest she's ever come to a tentpole was probably Steven Soderbergh's "Contagion," or maybe the Aardman animation "Flushed Away," but in general, she's preferred to stick to artsier, more awards-baity fare, working with directors like Roman Polanski, Todd Haynes and, on the way, Jason Reitman.

Persistence pays off it would seem. To date, celebrated actor Alan Rickman only has one feature film directing credit to his name, 1997's "The Winter Guest," and while we've yet to see a sophomore effort, it hasn't been for lack of trying. Rickman has had a couple of projects percolating over the years, but the one that he's stuck with has been "A Little Chaos." It looks like his determination has finally yielded some results, with two great actors on board and a start date in sight.

The only thing you need to know about "Movie 43" is that it features a ton of short comedy segments, with a bunch of stars, and if you don't like the one you're currently watching, you don't have to worry because the next one is just around the corner. While the first trailer did it's best to give a broad overview of what audiences are in for, this new, filthy red band spot narrows down the scope a bit more.

When you're pulling together a comedy omnibus with shorts directed by Brett Ratner, Elizabeth Banks, Mike Judge, Bob Odenkirk, Steve Baker, Damon Escot and more, starring folks like Emma Stone, Halle Berry, Terrence Howard, Gerard Butler, Kristen Bell, Chloe Moretz, Josh Duhamel, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Knoxville, Elizabeth Banks, Naomi Watts, Kate Winslet, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Richard Gere, Anna Faris, Justin Long, Liev Schreiber, Uma Thurman, Seann William Scott, Kieran Culkin, Leslie Bibb, Jimmy Bennett, Kate Bosworth, Patrick Warburton, Tony Shalhoub, Chris Pratt, Jason Sudeikis, Jack McBrayer, Aasif Mandvi and Bobby Cannavale....you might understand that few deadlines might be missed. It's coming. One of the biggest movies of all time is getting ready to pulverize all over again as James Cameron's "Titanic" drops anchor this spring, on it's slightly revised release date of April 6th and this time, it's in 3D. Yeah, it's the same movie you know and love (*spoiler* the boat still sinks), but it's been beefed up for contemporary audiences who apparently need stuff to fly at their face to get their money's worth. We would say it's going to be an immersive experience, but that just sounds crass.
