While a definitive release date has yet to be locked down, a poster and a collection of stills has debuted for the new Nicolas Cage thriller "Stolen" (formerly "Medallion," which made it sound like a negligible Jackie Chan movie), with the appropriately Nic Cage-y tagline: "12 hours. $10 million. 1 kidnapped daughter." We're not sure about the math, but we're certainly excited about the movie!

There appears to be some kind of legal mandate that any actor who spends time on the East Coast has to, at some point, guest star on "Law & Order" or one of its many spin-offs. Over the 20-year history of the franchise, it's managed to find room for the diverse, acclaimed likes of Robin Williams, Angela Lansbury,  Marcia Gay Harden, Ellen Burstyn, Brenda Blethyn, Dianne Weist, Frank Langella,  Alfred Molina, Stephen Rea, Sharon Stone, Jeremy Irons, Laura Linney, Liza Minnelli, Holly Hunter and Julia Roberts. Hell, there are not many shows that have had guest appearances from both Ludacris AND Isabelle Huppert.

Get it!? It's like catch-22 but like, with a gun! It's a pun! Yep, "Catch .44" is the name of this (pretty much) straight-to-DVD effort starring Bruce Willis and for those of you who are bowing at the altar of Megan Ellison, let it be known that this is an Annapurna Production. Nobody is perfect.

A bit of an acting substitution here for a gestating indie-flick with John Cusack now replacing original star/producer Ethan Hawke as the lead in Kasper Barfoed's upcoming action-thriller "The Numbers Station," which also stars Malin Akerman. Hawke joined the project last fall when it was gearing up for early 2011 shoot, but that didn't come to pass. But with Cusack now on board, things are beginning to movie again.

Lucy Punch Co-StarsFun fact: rising funnyman Tyler Labine -- seen this year in "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes" and "A Good Old Fashioned Orgy" -- is a graduate of the semi-legendary Canadian kids TV sitcom "Breaker High." His co-star? Ryan Gosling. It's like some kind of Canuck "Mickey Mouse Club" or something. And this is all to say that Labine, Malin Akerman and Lucy Punch have come aboard the dark comedy "Cottage Country" and there is already a first look at the film.

Blowjobs: the new being-the-author-of-"In Cold Blood." Last time we had two dueling biographical accounts of a figure's life, we had the two Truman Capote pictures, "Capote" and "Infamous." This time, the subject is Linda Lovelace, the tragic star of the most successful pornographic film of all time, "Deep Throat," who then went on to become an outspoken anti-porn activist. Lovelace was the subject of the 2005 documentary, "Inside Deep Throat," but now a pair of biopics are in the works, with some relatively big names attracted.

The last major piece of the casting puzzle of "Rock of Ages" seems to have been filled, and Adam Shankman has assembled a pretty motley bunch for his frizzy haired musical.

After shacking up with Batman's brother in "The Fighter," Amy Adams is set to become Superman's dame. According to the L.A. Times, Zack Snyder has found his Lois Lane for the upcoming "Superman" project slated for a late 2012 release, and it's Oscar nominee Adams, who will step into the iconic workaholic high heels. If the rumors are to be believed (and not all of them are), Adams beat out less-pedigreed competition in Kristen Stewart, Jessica Biel, Rachel McAdams, Malin Ackerman, Dianna Agron, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde, Mila Kunis, Lindsay Lohan, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, Abe Vigoda, Bristol Palin, Justin Bartha, Elizabeth Bathory, Ms. Pac-Man... rumors are rumors, we suppose.

Film festivals are a strange animal. With hundreds of films to look to look at, it's inevitable that some will get unfairly ignored or overlooked such as the recent "Cracks" which premiered at TIFF in 2009 and is only hitting theaters now. And such is the case with "The Bang Bang Club." It premiered at TIFF last year to virtually zero pre-screening buzz and then promptly fell off. We certainly didn't get a chance to check it out, but judging by the latest trailer we can see why word was a bit muted.
