The last major piece of the casting puzzle of "Rock of Ages" seems to have been filled, and Adam Shankman has assembled a pretty motley bunch for his frizzy haired musical.

After shacking up with Batman's brother in "The Fighter," Amy Adams is set to become Superman's dame. According to the L.A. Times, Zack Snyder has found his Lois Lane for the upcoming "Superman" project slated for a late 2012 release, and it's Oscar nominee Adams, who will step into the iconic workaholic high heels. If the rumors are to be believed (and not all of them are), Adams beat out less-pedigreed competition in Kristen Stewart, Jessica Biel, Rachel McAdams, Malin Ackerman, Dianna Agron, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde, Mila Kunis, Lindsay Lohan, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, Abe Vigoda, Bristol Palin, Justin Bartha, Elizabeth Bathory, Ms. Pac-Man... rumors are rumors, we suppose.

Film festivals are a strange animal. With hundreds of films to look to look at, it's inevitable that some will get unfairly ignored or overlooked such as the recent "Cracks" which premiered at TIFF in 2009 and is only hitting theaters now. And such is the case with "The Bang Bang Club." It premiered at TIFF last year to virtually zero pre-screening buzz and then promptly fell off. We certainly didn't get a chance to check it out, but judging by the latest trailer we can see why word was a bit muted.

Updated: Jim Sturgess Not AttachedUpdated: While Bleeding Cool say they talked to one of the producers of one of the films. Perhaps they spoke out of turn. Sturgess' reps emailed us to say the information is wrong and he is not in the picture. We hope for BC's sake that Malin Ackerman is in the picture too as they have reported.

Malin Akerman Joins Nicolas Cage In Shiny Thriller 'Medallion'

Audiences seem to be cooling on wig-wearing, "I'll-do-anything-just-send-me-a-script" Nicolas Cage. His medieval flick "Season Of The Witch" opened at number three, and over the weekend, "Drive Angry 3D" arrived with an empty tank opening way down the list at number nine. But Cage, for whatever it's worth, is still a name that gets lower-budgeted action fare moving and certainly dinosaur bones and castles don't pay for themselves. Just before the end of the year, Cage signed on to the thriller "Medallion," and things are still moving forward on the project despite his dodgy box office prospects these days.

Malin Akerman, Dianna Agron, Mary Elizabeth Winstead Also Mentioned With one of the big casting questions of 2011 answered on Sunday, with the announcement that "The Tudors" veteran Henry Cavill will be playing Clark Kent/Superman in Zack Snyder's reboot of the iconic hero, questions immediately turn to who will be joining the British actor in the film, and specifically, who will play the Man Of Steel's better half, spunky reporter Lois Lane. Natalie Portman had been vaguely linked to the role before Christmas, but if there was ever any truth to the rumor, the recent announcement of her pregnancy surely puts paid to that, and otherwise, word has been fairly quiet. Until now.

Yes, its yet another project linked to James Franco who seems to be spending his time between classes, just calling up producers in Hollywood and chatting with them about projects that pique his curiosity.

This was the Audience Award winner at last year's Sundance Film Festival and well, we're still trying to figure out why. Maybe it's the way the trailer is cut but "Happythankyoumoreplease," the writing and directing debut of actor Josh Radnor, seems like an amalgam of every indie movie we've seen in the past decade, with attractive young people figuring things out and finding themselves in this crazy thing called modern life.

Producers Insist Lohan Was Fired And Didn't QuitThe long, slow painful deconstruction of Lindsay Lohan's career continues this week and plunges even deeper into the slo-mo trainwreck trajectory it has been moving along for what seems like the last two years. We're frankly surprised the starlet is still alive and as much as we feel bad for any human being obviously struggling so much, it seems like the gossip-star turned sublebrity has been her own worst enemy all along.
