'Breaking Bad' Star Aaron Paul, 'The Help' Breakout Actress Octavia Spencer & Nick Offerman Also On BoardSince Mary Elizabeth Winstead is done battling awful CGI-rendered aliens in "The Thing" prequel, and "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul and Nick Offerman aka Ron Swanson from "Parks & Recreation" have a break from their shows' respective seasons, it would appear as if it's time to shoot a feature.

The hype generator surrounding Universal’s pricey remake/reimagining/whatever of John Carpenter’s 1982 chiller “The Thing” (itself a remake of 1951’s “The Thing From Another World”) has been on the fritz lately. We first got a fairly impressive look at the movie way back at last year’s New York Comic Con. At that point the film was scheduled for an April 29th, 2011 bow, before getting pushed back considerably to the more Halloween-friendly slot of October 14th, 2011. While this new release date is right around the corner, only one trailer and a single mysterious poster for the flick had surfaced in recent months (though we’re just happy it’s a Halloween release that doesn’t feature home video footage of ghosts). Well, the hype generator seems to have been reengaged, with MTV (via Coming Soon) debuting the first stand alone clip from the movie.

After shacking up with Batman's brother in "The Fighter," Amy Adams is set to become Superman's dame. According to the L.A. Times, Zack Snyder has found his Lois Lane for the upcoming "Superman" project slated for a late 2012 release, and it's Oscar nominee Adams, who will step into the iconic workaholic high heels. If the rumors are to be believed (and not all of them are), Adams beat out less-pedigreed competition in Kristen Stewart, Jessica Biel, Rachel McAdams, Malin Ackerman, Dianna Agron, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde, Mila Kunis, Lindsay Lohan, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, Abe Vigoda, Bristol Palin, Justin Bartha, Elizabeth Bathory, Ms. Pac-Man... rumors are rumors, we suppose.

Forget those earlier reports that Robin McLeavy joined the film in the same role. They were wrong.

Well, that was fast. Last night Samuel L. Jackson hit "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" and confirmed that Nick Fury would be in both "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Thor." He also dropped the bomb that tomorrow, he was going to be screentesting with actresses for some kind of companion role in the upcoming "The Avengers" telling Fallon, "I gotta screen test like five actresses on Friday. They have this new character that’s my sidekick or something, that’s with me all the time."

Malin Akerman, Dianna Agron, Mary Elizabeth Winstead Also Mentioned With one of the big casting questions of 2011 answered on Sunday, with the announcement that "The Tudors" veteran Henry Cavill will be playing Clark Kent/Superman in Zack Snyder's reboot of the iconic hero, questions immediately turn to who will be joining the British actor in the film, and specifically, who will play the Man Of Steel's better half, spunky reporter Lois Lane. Natalie Portman had been vaguely linked to the role before Christmas, but if there was ever any truth to the rumor, the recent announcement of her pregnancy surely puts paid to that, and otherwise, word has been fairly quiet. Until now.

Amy Adams Still In The Mix Along With Mary Elizabeth Winstead & Rachel McAdamsFive years after his generally-panned dramedy "Elizabethtown" starring Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst, director Cameron Crowe is currently gearing up for his next directorial effort with an adaptation of Benjamin Mee's autobiographical novel "We Bought A Zoo," which currently has Matt Damon in the lead role.
