Warren Beatty, Howard Hughes, Alden Ehrenrecih and Lily Collins
After more than a decade being MIA at the multiplex, bona fide legend Warren Beatty is coming back with a new film. Though recent reports suggested he might've abandoned playing Howard Hughes, not to worry, as Beatty will indeed play the famed billionaire recluse in a movie that's not quite about Hughes at all.

If you’re a fan of “Breaking Bad,” chances are you probably couldn’t imagine anyone other than Bryan Cranston in the role of Walter White. But it should come as no surprise that back in 2008 he wasn’t AMC’s first choice to lead their new series. After all, would the Dad from “Malcolm in the Middle” be the first person you’d have in mind when trying to cast a terminally ill school teacher who turns to producing and selling meth? Casting Cranston was ultimately a very brave and very wise choice…but it almost wasn’t to be.

After a few of years since the last major effort (the ill-fated "Nine"), the live-action movie musical is back again, with two starry efforts due this year about as far away from each other as you can get. This Christmas will see the terribly-serious looking "Les Miserables" hit theaters, with a star-studded cast including Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway. But first is "Rock Of Ages," which arrives in theaters tomorrow, with another A-list ensemble including Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

A Point/Counter-Point Review Of Kenneth Lonergan's Long-Delayed Contentious Drama"Margaret" was a film that split those at The Playlist who saw it right down the middle with some of us hailing it as a near masterpiece, while others had some clear issues with Kenneth Lonergan's long-awaited, sprawling drama. So, we have two reviews for you here. The first is a positive take from Drew Taylor and the second is a more critical look by the site's editor-in-chief.

A few years ago, Disney planned a theatrical release for a 3D version of "Beauty & the Beast," using the cutting edge, post-"Avatar" technology that we've all come to know so well (and sometimes dread just as much). The conversion took place, at great expense, but the theatrical engagement (originally set for February, 2010) never materialized. Still, the studio pressed ahead (Walt always said that good ideas never die), and this week the studio's traditionally animated crown jewel "The Lion King," in a shiny new 3D format, will get a proper release – in 2,000 3D screens across the country. But what does a 3D version of a traditionally animated movie look like, exactly? And is it worth seeing again, with a 3D ticket surcharge no less?
