This Is The End, Hill, Rihanna
The end is nigh. To think it all started in 2007 as "Jay And Seth Versus The Apocalypse" a short YouTube clip starring Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel as themselves if they were degenerate roommates living in squalor during the apocalypse. This of course evolved into what's now known as "This Is The End," an ensemble apocalypse comedy that's expanded to also include friends-playing-themselves like James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson.

Arrested Development, Netflix series
Binging is the new black. And thus the desire to not only gorge, but to insta-weigh-in on the new Netflix season of “Arrested Development,” which premiered over the Memorial Weekend, is in full effect. The cult of ‘AD’ has grown to a deafening roar over the years, the anticipation and expectations at the prospect of the show’s triumphant return were at an all time high going into the weekend. “Arrested Development” was neglected and then canceled in 2006 by 20th Century Fox and somehow defied the odds to return seven years later with a new lease on life thanks to Netflix and their own expanding desire for (semi) original programming. But if you’re disappointed with this new season, it may be easy to understand why. Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for.

Want to see Michael Cera troll YouTube’s Comedy Week? I don’t want to say too much about his latest project from JASH, the YouTube comedy channel he co-founded with Reggie Watts, Tim & Eric, and Sarah Silverman, but you can check it out below.

arrested development, ew
Seven years in the making, and honestly not something many realistic pragmatists like us thought would ever come to pass, “Arrested Development” is returning in May on Netflix with all the 15 episodes at once, so you can binge through them all in one sitting, as is the norm for big TV digestion these days. No, it’s not quite a fourth season, or at least says Jason Bateman, but it’s the continuation of the Bluth’s story some 10 years later. Entertainment Weekly’s cover story last week has an awesome breakdown of the “Arrested Development” return and how unflappable series creator Mitch Hurwitz willed it into existence with unwavering tenacity.

“It’s the story of shame, cunning, thievery, dishonor, backstabbing, deceit, bold-faced lying, one-upmanship, psychological torture, lust, financial ruin, and magic, all supported by a very broad beam of dysfunctional love,” Will Arnett says about the upcoming season or batch of episodes or whatever-you-want-to-call-it of "Arrested Development." And that's just fine by us.

It's fitting that Michael Cera's cameo in the upcoming comedy “This Is The End” plays on the actor's trademarked screen persona, because the past few years have been a slow turn for him towards the daring, unique and offbeat. “Youth In Revolt” started it, Sebastian Silva's recent Sundance entries “Magic Magic” and “Crystal Fairy” continued it, and now his first directorial effort has landed on a similar path.

So April Fools' Day is (thankfully) nearing an end and it looks like Bryan Singer and the folks behind "This Is The End" win the day. The former fooled Variety with a joke tweet about Lady Gaga playing Dazzler in "X-Men: Days Of Future Past," while the latter dropped a joke teaser for "Pineapple Express 2" masquerading as a quick teaser for the apocalypse comedy. Well, they've decided to finish the day with a brand new red band trailer, and yeah, this looks like it'll be something of a cameo filled blast.

Getting ready to take the Sundance Film Festival by storm in just a few days, Michael Cera will be offering up two distinctly different movies in Park City, both directed by "The Maid" helmer Sebastian Silva: the thriller "Magic Magic" and the drug hazed "Crystal Fairy." The first peek of the latter has quietly arrived online, and it's promising stuff.

Well, "Arrested Development" fans, you haven’t been dreaming this entire time. We now have a couple of images from the highly anticipated fourth season, and while it’s only two spoiler-free images, it still serves as a reminder that we are merely months away from getting the chance to sit down, relax, and soak in all fourteen episodes in one sitting. That is, if you have that kind of attention span.

"The End Of The World" is coming, and no, we're not talking about the Mayan nonsense that has tinfoil hat types stocking up on batteries and water. We're talking about Seth Rogen's directorial debut (he shares the chair with longtime writing collaborator Evan Goldberg, and yes, they both penned the script), the apocalypse comedy that's now called "This Is The End." And the first red band spot is here.
