X-Men Days Of Future Past
Don't be fooled. While Fox is touting this as the final trailer for "X-Men: Days Of Future Past," there is still a long month ahead before it hits theatres. And in that time, we're sure there will be no shortage of featurettes, clips, Instagram vids, Vines, skywriting and more for Bryan Singer's ambitious franchise entry. But before that, yes, it's the final trailer for the movie.

Boyhood, Frank
We’d heard back around Sundance that the title for Richard Linklater’s “Boyhood” would likely change. Guess that’s not happening. “Boyhood” now has a poster and it’s, well…. not very different from the three scant photos we’ve seen. In fact, it’s the exact photo of the boy in question (Ellar Coltrane), just in poster size. Still, Linklater’s movie is worth celebrating. Shot over the course of 12 years with the same four actors Ethan Hawke, Ellar Coltrane, Patricia Arquette and the filmmaker’s daughter, Lorelei Linklater, “Boyhood” is a terrific cinematic experience chronicling the life of a family over more than a decade.

Prometheus
Well, that didn’t last too long. 20th Century Fox announced a rash of future dates last year going as far as 2018. The big eye-grabber was a trio of super hero films, “The Wolverine 2,” a sequel to “The Fantastic Four” that hasn’t even begun shooting yet and an Untitled Marvel Mystery movie for summer 2018, which has still not been revealed.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past
So, what is "X-Men: Days Of Future Past"? The ultimately comic book team up movie or something more steeped in genre? For director Bryan Singer, it's the latter the piqued his interest when approaching the sequel.

Frank, Fassbender
Obscuring the terrifically expressive and sometimes terrifying (“12 Years a Slave”) face of actor Michael Fassbender may seem like sacrilege, but that’s just what director Lenny Abrahamson (“What Richard Did”) does in “Frank,” a film that premiered atSundance but is—appropriately, for reasons that will be explained—also playing this week at South By Southwest. Screenwriters Jon Ronson (“The Men Who Stare at Goats”) and Peter Straughan (“Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy”) have expanded on a memoir by Ronson to create a wholly unique, comi-tragic portrait of one band’s evolution.

Frank, Sundance
An unexpected little treat has arrived on the eve of SXSW: the trailer for “Frank,” one of our favorite films from the Sundance Film Festival. Starring Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Scott McNairy, “Frank” is a wickedly funny yet poignant look at outsider art, misfits, freaky rock n’ roll and more. Directed by Lenny Abrahamson (“What Richard Did”), the film is loosely based on the story of Chris Sievey, aka Frank Sidebottom, an English musician who became notorious for always wearing a giant papier–mache head whenever he played live.

Ridley Scott Says He Prefers Director's Cut Of 'The Counselor,' Mocks Fox Studio's Prudishness

The Counselor
When "The Counselor" was released last fall, it was an intriguing conundrum: how had Ridley Scott, the one-time bad boy auteur behind "Blade Runner" and "Alien," taken the first original screenplay by legendary American author Cormac McCarthy (of "No Country for Old Men" and "The Road" fame), and turned in something so vacant and bizarre? We puzzled over this at the time, both in our review and in comparing the final version to the lengthier, filthier, more philosophically-minded screenplay. With the recent release of the Blu-ray, not only do we get a more satisfying cut of the movie, but its accompanying commentary provides a shockingly honest and insightful glimpse into who Scott is as a filmmaker today.

Frank, Fassbender
While the Sundance Film Festival seems like a distant memory, one film we can't stop talking about is "Frank." One of the best films we saw in Park City, and a definite highlight among our writers on the ground, the Michael Fassbender-starring musical comedy is a distinct, odd, unique and highly entertaining take on being a musician and the process of creating art. And now we've got a batch of new images to take you further inside the zany world of the movie.

Oscars: The Best Underrated Performances By The 2014 Acting Noms
With the Oscar nominations out, and the SAGs and Golden Globes a few weeks in the past, we're entering something of a quiet phase in awards season, with the Academy not even due to begin voting for a few weeks yet. So it seems like a good time to look back.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past
Bryan Singer’s upcoming "X-Men Days Of Future Past" can likely be seen in two different ways: either you’re anticipating the hell out of this movie with its ultimate X-Men fanboy-driven cast of characters or you’re generally worried that a movie with over 25 super heroes and villains is going to be one big disaster.
