Back in October we put together a feature entitled Fire Your Agent: 10 Actors Who Need A Change Of Career Direction. And among them was Adrien Brody, who seems to have no discerning standard for choosing projects, just as quick to do a Woody Allen movie as....well, this. Vince Offer, the guy who created the fucking Slap Chop, has made a movie. And basically, Brody, Michelle Rodriguez, Rob Schneider and Lindsay Lohan all need to fire their agents and rethink their careers for being involved in this thing.

About once every eighteen months we’re cursed with another entry in the bafflingly endless, endlessly baffling “Resident Evil” franchise. Based on a series of popular horror survival games by Japanese company Capcom, the first film was originally supposed to be directed by zombie movie titan George Romero, who had directed a series of atmospheric commercials for the games in Japan. Instead, he was swapped out for Paul W.S. Anderson, who can charitably be described as a talentless hack, and had previously directed an adaptation of videogame “Mortal Kombat.” As such, gritty horror was replaced by a kind of cheaply lacquered Hollywood sheen.

The success of the “Resident Evil” franchise should come as a surprise to no one. When Paul W.S. Anderson’s first film arrived in 2002 it already had its winning formula in place, which essentially boils down to Milla Jovovich in a tight outfit brandishing weapons against a horde of mindless zombie/thingies/cannon fodder in slow motion. Over the series more CGI was used, with the quality somehow never increasing, and 3D was added. This September sees the release of the fifth film, “Resident Evil: Retribution,” and we have nine new images from the film.

Looks like "Fast & Furious 6" is getting fuel injected with some kick-ass estrosgen. With Gina Carano joining the pic last week and Rihanna being rumored to play the villain (while reps stay noticeably mum, though not denying anything), a familiar female face is returning to the gearhead series.

While Danny Trejo is the only confirmed actor for "Machete Kills," the sequel to the pulp, exploitation style, grindhouse flick "Machete," we could probaby guess who else might be back even with nothing official. And right up there would be Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez.

Late in 2010, seemingly on the back of David O. Russell's "The Fighter" and all its success, Gael Garcia Bernal and Al Pacino boarded "Hands Of Stone," a biopic of legendary Panamanian boxer Robert Duran which had Venezuelan helmer Jonathan Jakubowicz set to direct. One of Duran's most famous fights was of course against the undefeated Sugar Ray Leonard and, with the film seemingly growing legs recently, an unconventional choice has now been cast to play Leonard.

They may still not have the prestige of arch-rivals Pixar, but things have been looking up over at DreamWorks Animation of late. Once the home of poor CGI fare like "Shark Tale" and "Bee Movie," recent years have seen a new emphasis on quality rather (or at least in addition to) big names. 2010's "How To Train Your Dragon" was their best film to date, and last year even sequels "Puss In Boots" and "Kung Fu Panda 2" displayed more artistry than "Cars 2" did, picking up Oscar nominations for their trouble.

We're not sure that there's a single franchise out there that's cheaper and more joyless than "Resident Evil." The video-game adaptation is now a decade, and four entries, old, and has continued to add literally nothing to the zombie genre, the action movie genre and the cinematic artform in general. But with the last film, "Resident Evil: Apocalypse," proving by far the biggest entry in the series, taking nearly $300 million worldwide, there's no end in sight, and original helmer Paul W.S. Anderson, who also directed the fourth entry, is returning to the series for "Resident Evil: Retribution," on which shooting is imminent, ahead of a release a year from now.

How Aaron Eckhart Going Method Irked His Co-Stars & More Learned From The Cast Of 'Battle: Los Angeles' This weekend sees the release of mega blockbuster “Battle: Los Angeles.” We sat down with the cast, including Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez and Ne-Yo to discuss exactly what it’s like to shoot an alien invasion picture in such an unconventional manner, utilizing documentary-like shooting techniques. And we learned, of course, that some took it more seriously than others.
