While he'll be featuring in the self-described "biggest movie of 2014" with "Transformers: Age Of Extinction," the always busy Mark Wahlberg has a number of other movies percolating that are smaller and much more interesting (at least for us). And he's revealed the status of a few of them to the folks at Collider.

The buzz out of Austin this afternoon is Danny Boyle's SXSW Film Festival talk with the New York Times' David Carr (more on that later). The filmmaker unveiled some footage of his new mindbending heist film (which we've seen mind you, and it's very good), "Trance," starring James McAvoy and Rosario Dawson, discussed his filmmaking career and his ongoing musical collaboration with Underworld's Rick Smith.

Over the weekend, it sounds like more than a few of you checked out "Skyfall" -- $80 million+ worth of you, in fact. And around the rest of the world, it's even more, the film having taken over $500 million internationally since it started rolling out two weeks ago. And for the most part, it's been acclaimed as one of the best (if not the very best) entries in the long-running spy franchise to date.

This weekend the latest James Bond entry "Skyfall" opens nationwide and will be rocking people's socks off from coast to coast. Directed by Sam Mendes (read our interview here) and starring Daniel Craig in his third outing as the super-spy, it's a very different movie than the previous two installments ("Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace"), with more color, humor, suspense, and melancholy. While attending the film's press day, we learned the principles – Craig, Mendes, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, Javier Bardem and Bond girl Naomie Harris -- detailed the making of the movie, and the various aspects of the production. Be warned, though: MAJOR SPOILERS follow. Read this piece after you see the movie. Seriously.

Now that the hype surrounding the release of Adele's “Skyfall” theme song has been sufficiently met, the questions shift to the Sam Mendes-directed 007 film itself, and whether Daniel Craig can pull off the 23rd installment. However, after a strong critical reaction resulted from its first press screenings, and with the official UK release next week, a tense new clip -- along with two TV spots - have arrived to erase “Quantum of Solace” from James Bond fan's memories.

Christopher Nolan is, famously (like many British directors), a big fan of the James Bond franchise. He said that he approached "Batman Begins" more like a Bond flick than a superhero movie, he directly nodded to one of 007's high watermarks in "Inception," and has publicly expressed interest in, at some point, directing one of the films in the franchise.

Even as someone who grew up on bank holiday viewings of the series, it's sometimes hard to get truly enthusiastic about the release of a new Bond movie. We'll always go and see a new 007 adventure, but the longevity of the series, and the relatively formulaic nature of it, means that it's something we've come to take for granted, not least because for every great installment like a "Goldeneye" or a "Casino Royale," there's a "Die Another Day" or "Quantum Of Solace" right behind it to kill the mood.

Can you tell that "Skyfall" is opening (overseas) in about four weeks? We'd reckon that another trailer is likely just around the corner -- probably on or around James Bond Day on October 5th -- but until then, we have some new pics that offer up eye candy for both the dudes and ladies.

As we've reported earlier, this fall's 007 romp "Skyfall" will have what can charitably be described as "a whole heaping fuckload" of complex promotional tie-ins, corporate sponsorships, and licensing arrangements. Well, we've now got our first look at one of those tie-ins – with Coke Zero. That's right – Scott Pilgrim and James Bond will soon have the same taste in diet soda. What's more – a new international banner has been unveiled, and Roger Moore proclaims Daniel Craig the best James Bond ever. Does he get a prize? A twelve-pack of Coke Zero maybe?

Now that we're coming to the end of summer blockbuster season, many eyes are turning towards the fall line-up, and while there's the usual selection of prestige fare there, we're not exactly going to be starving for blockbusters. "The Hobbit," "Jack Reacher," "Breaking Dawn Pt. 2" -- all films with the potential to be huge without necessarily troubling Academy voters. But one of the most anticipated of all is "Skyfall," the 23rd official James Bond film, which hits in November.
