Death Of Superman Lives
“Jodorowksy’s Dune”—which, of course, focused on Alejandro Jodorowsky’s doomed “Dune” adaptation—was a riotous revelation that we instantly fell in love with (and ranked in our Best Documentaries Of 2014 So Far). Following in its footsteps is the Kickstarter-funded “The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?” and the documentary’s first trailer premiered at Comic-Con and is now available to watch in the comfort of your own home.

Rage
If, for whatever reason, you find yourself in an argument with someone who is desperately trying to convince you that Nicolas Cage has returned to form with his brilliant performance in David Gordon Green’s “Joe," you’ll be able to shut them up thanks to Paco Cabezas. They can bring up all sorts of scenes as valid evidence of Cage’s buried talents, unearthed by his performance as Green’s titular protagonist, but you’ll only need one word for a comeback and it will be checkmate—“Rage."

The Edge
NBC’s newest medical drama “The Night Shift” has been destroyed by critics as nothing more than a stitched-together mess of clichés and though the show will only air its second ever episode tonight, we’re fairly certain that at some point this season the hot shot doctor will be pounding away at someone’s chest, screaming “Don’t die on me!” While you’ve no doubt seen that exact scenario play out before, have you ever wondered just how many times that line’s been said?

Nicolas Cage, Left Behind
No matter how good Nicolas Cage's intentions tend to be—see our interview in Berlin from last year, where the actor suggests he wants to try working with more auteurs and doing more intimate work—there always tends to be some pay-the-bills-looking shlock around the corner. Cage might have recently said David Gordon Green's "Joe" was his best performance in ages, but maybe that matters little when there's a "Left Behind" following it up.

Kick-Ass, Nicholas Cage
Action director John McTiernan's trouble with the law may soon be ending (read all about it here) which means he'll soon be able to get back to work. And earlier this year, his first post-prison project "Red Squad" made some headlines, but not much has been heard since. But if all goes well, it looks like he's found a leading man.

This series of tubes we call the Internet has only one currency: memes. No actor alive has been the subject of more memes/gifs/parody videos/whatever than national treasure Nicolas Cage. The actor’s penchant for “mega acting” is well-documented at this point, but one brave soul, one pioneer has taken it upon himself to create another highlight reel of the Cage’s best moments on screen.

Joe, Nicolas Cage
After jostling with a couple different casting iterations, "Bachelorette" writer/director Leslye Headland has lined up Jason Sudeikis, Alison Brie, Adam Scott, Amanda Peet, Jason Mantzoukas and Natasha Lyonne for "Sleeping With Other People." The story follows a womanizer named Jake (Sudeikis), and a serial cheater (Brie), who form a platonic relationship to overcome their chronic infidelity. The film is described as " 'When Harry Met Sally' but with assholes," and production will begin in June, with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay producing.

Edgar Ramirez, Point Break
Personally, I have zero interest or nostalgia for “Point Break” or the remake, but the remake just got a serious upgrade. In the lead role was Gerard Butler, until he dropped out recently and but he's now been replaced with Edgar Ramirez. The Venezuelan actor is far from a well-known actor, but he killed it as Carlos The Jackal in Oliver Assayas' three-part "Carlos" epic in 2010 and was strong in "The Bourne Ultimatum," Steven Soderbergh's "Che" and "Zero Dark Thirty."

Rage
So listen, everyone likes to make fun of Nicolas Cage for the string of crap movies he makes. But seriously, what is dude supposed to do when he makes a movie like David Gordon Green's "Joe"—which he invested a lot of time on (for probably little pay), and which everyone called a return to form—and no one goes to see it? Seriously, it made $340,000 at the box office—total. So who can blame the guy for taking an easy paycheck when one comes his way? You asked for this people.
