Blood Ties, Marion Cotillard
There’s no questioning the aesthetics of Guillaume Canet’s handsome-looking “Blood Ties.” Set in 1970’s New York City, the film revels in low-key details: the immaculate wardrobe, the music, the feel.

If there is any movie this year at Cannes that is absolutely brimming with promise on paper, it's Guillaume Canet's "Blood Ties." With an extended cast featuring Clive Owen, Billy Crudup, Mila Kunis, Matthias Schoenaerts, Zoe Saldana, James Caan, Marion Cotillard, Noah Emmerich and Lili Taylor among others along with a script co-written by James Gray, one wonders how it could go wrong. Then Fassbender left, and Jude Law joined. Then Ramsay left. Then Gavin O'Connor joined. Then Law left. Then Bradley Cooper joined. Still with us?

Its been smooth sailing recently for character actor Noah Emmerich, featuring in a number of high-profile projects including "Fair Game," "The Walking Dead," "Super 8" as well as "Warrior." The actor now looks to be continuing that trend having booked two new roles including a part in a star-studded crime-drama and a small screen re-teaming with regular collaborator, Gavin O'Connor.
