With a lead role in Terrence Malick's upcoming untitled film and a supporting role in Martin McDonagh’s "In Bruges" follow-up "Seven Psychopaths" (read what she has to say about those projects here), Olga Kurylenko’s star is firmly in the ascendant. But these roles also mark a shift away from the looking-hot-while-things-blow-up parts in "Max Payne," "Hitman" and, of course, "Quantum of Solace" that first brought her to our attention. During our interview at the Marrakech Film Festival, we asked whether this new direction was an accident or something she had planned.

Maintaining a career after breaking through as a Bond girl is not the easiest thing in the world. Just ask Izabella Scorupco or Denise Richards. If you can find them. But the current batch seem to be doing alright so far. Rosamund Pike has gone from strength to strength since "Die Another Day," and both Eva Green and Gemma Arterton have worked steadily in interesting films since rolling in the hay with 007. But arguably the one with the most intriguing slate of projects ahead of her is Olga Kurylenko, who played female lead Camille Montes in last Bond entry "Quantum of Solace."

When it was reported recently that Mickey Rourke bailed on "Seven Psychopaths" from "In Bruges" director Martin McDonagh, calling him a "jerkoff" as a parting show, a couple commenters on the site suggested Woody Harrelson as a replacement. Seems like somebody has been listening.

That's His Next Film, Not His Next Next Film, His Next Next Next Film Or His Next Next Next Next FilmWhat in the name of grace and nature has gotten into Terrence Malick recently? With the announcement yesterday of two new projects both starring Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett -- "Lawless," also with Ryan Gosling and Rooney Mara, and "Knight of Cups" with Isabel Lucas -- it means that the reclusive auteur looks likely to make more films in the space of this decade than he did in the previous 35 put together. Of course, he unveiled "The Tree of Life" this year, and has the IMAX documentary "Voyage of Time" reportedly still in the works, not to mention his rumored involvement with "Green Lantern 2." Okay, that we just made up.

Two first looks at what are upcoming B-movies? Hard to say, you be the judge. The first is the action thriller "The Expatriate" starring Aaron Eckhart. It's a picture without many stars outside of Olga Kurylenko, and while she's certainly attractive, she's hardly a big star. The film is directed by Philipp Stölzl, a German director known for "North Face," "Young Goethe in Love" and music videos by Garbage, Evanescence and Rammstein.

Film Now Titled 'Horizon'Throughout all the negative PR of the last few years, Tom Cruise remains undeterred, awesomely acting as if he is still Hollywood's biggest star. After the somewhat-dicey "Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol" this holiday season, he's got a no-fail supporting role in "Rock Of Ages" followed by crime picture "One Shot" arriving in 2013, a pretty decent slate for a guy some audiences still consider toxic. After that, Cruise is going big, returning to the genre that served him well in "War Of The Worlds" and "Vanilla Sky" with Joseph Kosinki's "Horizon," formerly titled "Oblivion," and its currently casting two lovely ladies with the opportunity to seduce the practicing Thetan.

'Trust' Star Liana Libreto Also On BoardAaron Eckhart's transition from respected character actor into mainstream leading man has been a bumpy road. For every "The Dark Knight" there is an ill-conceived entry like the rom-com "No Reservations," and while it did solid box office ($180 million worldwide) "Battle: Los Angeles" was fucking terrible. But Eckhart isn't through kicking ass and taking names, and he's currently filming "Expatriate" and now has a former Bond girl on his tail.

With Terrence Malick hard at work on his next film starring Rachel McAdams, Ben Affleck, Rachel Weisz, Olga Kurylenko, Javier Bardem and Barry Pepper, details have, as usual with Malick, been completely under wraps. Aside from the casting, and set pictures revealing that Bardem and Pepper play priests in the film, little is known about the picture but has a French website spilled the beans on the title?

Ok, "Tree Of Life" is in the can and set for a May 27, 2011 release date (it'll likely premiere at the Cannes Film Festival a few days before the picture goes into regular theatrical release) so onto Terrence Malick's next film, an untitled feature that, shockingly, is already shooting in Oklahoma and not waiting five years to gestate.
