The Longest Week
While we appreciate the mid-trailer appearance by Jenny Slate to make a self-aware point about "The Longest Week" centering on rich people with petty problems, thus far at least, it's not enough to save the first impression that this upcoming comedy is well, about rich people with petty problems.

Third Person
We're coming on a decade since Paul Haggis' "Crash" won Best Picture at the Oscars, and it's still one of the most divisive victories in recent memory. Detractors of the film are quick to point out the flaws in the L.A.-set drama, citing what they perceive to be the film's crass manipulativeness, one-dimensional characters, clumsy hand with racial politics and eye-rolling core of sentimentality. But frankly, you haven't seen anything yet. Haggis' return to the ensemble drama in "Third Person" makes "Crash" look like a work of understated, subtle art. A disastrously and ludicrously awful effort from the writer/director, absolutely nothing works in this facile, cliche-filled and astoundingly dull film that trades in cheap drama and soap opera theatrics.

Third Person
Liam Neeson's cinematic skills are boundless. He's punched vaguely foreign dudes who messed with his life and family (twice already, with "Taken 3" on the way), punched dudes trying to mess with his head ("Unknown"), punched wolves ("The Grey") and punched dudes trying to frame him on airplanes ("Non-Stop"). But how he's taking those fists and getting literary in "Third Person" playing a grizzled... novelist.

Third Person
Paul Haggis sure likes his multi-threaded dramas, in which lives intersect and secrets are revealed and we all learn valuable lessons about who we are. Hell, "Crash" won the guy an Oscar, so why not try and do it again, only this time take that concept around the globe? That's just what he did with "Third Person," which debuted at TIFF last fall, and is still without a domestic release date.

Though “Boardwalk Empire” has only one season left in the tank, hopefully, fans of the show can find solace in the fact that the Martin Scorsese/Terence Winter rock ‘n’ roll pilot for HBO is still moving forward. Olivia Wilde and Juno Temple have most recently joined the cast as the pilot is set to begin production this summer.

Olivia Wilde
While we don't know what the exact definition of "making it" is, we're pretty sure that once you graduate to working with Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtenay, it's something to be proud of. And certainly, for rising director Andrew Haigh—the man behind arthouse hit "Weekend," and the current HBO series "Looking"—he can qualify as having "made it."

Better Living Through Chemistry
While many studios like to use the Sundance Film Festival to boost their star driven indie pics, it's a bit curious that "Better Living Through Chemistry" didn't make an appearance. After all, the cast is red carpet ready with Sam Rockwell, Olivia Wilde, Michelle Monaghan, Ray Liotta and Jane Fonda among them, so what else could it be? Well, perhaps this trailer is a clue...

First Look: Sam Rockwell & Olivia Wilde In 'Better Living Through Chemistry'

Better Living Through Chemistry
While we've already run down our 100 Most Anticipated Films Of 2014, it speaks to the sheer volume of movies that we could probably make a list of another 100 that just didn't make the cut. And one of them would be "Better Living Through Chemistry." Read More »

Her, Joaquin Phoenix
Is social media anti-social? Has the information age divided us as much as it has been meant to unite? Is peer-to-peer simply an ironic term or are inter-personal, face-time relationships ripe for redefinition? While these are not the primary concerns of Spike Jonze’s lovely and perceptive relationship drama, “Her,” such implications are impossible to ignore in a movie that uses innovative and unconventional methods to explore some very universal anxieties.
