Ticky Tacky
It seems Oscar Isaac likes keeping busy. With two movies out in 2013 ("Inside Llewyn Davis" and "In Secret" which premiered at Cannes and TIFF respectively), and three more coming in 2014 ("Mojave," "Ex Machina" and "A Most Violent Year"), the actor has even made time to star in a short film. And the first trailer is here.

The Two Faces Of January
A sun-dappled backdrop against which intrigue, murder and romance play out sounds right up our alley, and certainly, the associated names with "The Two Faces of January" are impressive. It's based on a novel by Patricia Highsmith ("The Talented Mr. Ripley"), is written and directed by Hossein Amini (the guy who penned "Drive") and it features three excellent leads: Oscar Isaac, Kirsten Dunst and Viggo Mortensen. And certainly, this first clip from the film shows some promise.

Ex Machina
"Oh man, I'm so excited to see that movie," Oscar Isaac told us last fall about his role in the upcoming "Ex Machina." And we're pretty excited too. It's the directorial debut of "28 Days Later," "The Beach" and "Sunshine" writer Alex Garland, with Domhnall Gleeson and Alicia Vikander co-starring. Here's more from Isaac on what to expect from the film, with the first look emerging today.

Review: Unexceptional And Thoroughly Decent 'In Secret' Starring Elizabeth Olsen, Oscar Isaac & Jessica Lange

In Secret
What a tangled web we weave when with heaving bosoms and pained looks of longing we deceive, and Charlie Stratton's adaptation of author Emile Zola's "Therese Raquin" certainly features many scenes of both of those. It's a story that's been brought forth in a number of TV productions and most notably on the big screen in Marcel Carné's 1952 effort, and while this latest attempt at the material doesn't do anything strikingly radical, it does allow the lead trio of Elizabeth Olsen, Oscar Isaac and Jessica Lange take thoroughly decent, if unexceptional, material and make it more compelling and dramatic than it has any right to be.

The Two Faces Of January
On paper, there are any number of reasons to be excited for "The Two Faces of January," which screens during the Berlin Film Festival this week. The three leads, Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen and Oscar Isaac are all actors we admire, the director may be a first-timer in this role, but Hossein Amini is the high-profile screenwriter of "Drive" and "Snow White and the Hunstman" and, beyond that, it's based on the novel by Patricia Highsmith, whose books have previously yielded such films as "The Talented Mr Ripley," "Strangers on a Train," and the underseen "Ripley's Game."

The Two Faces Of January
While "The Grand Budapest Hotel," "Nymphomaniac" and "The Monuments Men" have largely taken the spotlight at the Berlin Film Festival, that's not the only star power walking the red carpet. The thriller "The Two Faces Of January" is getting set to unspool and the first trailer is here for the sun baked thriller.
