Poor Peter Bogdanovich. When was the last time the well-respected filmmaker made a narrative feature that remotely moved the needle (let's not include the good doc, "Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: Runnin' Down a Dream")? "Cat's Meow" in 2001, which wasn't very good? And before that, "Mask" in 1985? The well-liked filmmaker, actor and cinephile has had a pretty rough go of it in Hollywood (an unimpeachable beginning, a quick fall from grace), but perhaps his upcoming picture will be a late-era comeback?

Not seen on the big screen since 2001's "Town & Country," and not having directed a movie since 1998's "Bulworth," any Warren Beatty news is cause for curiosity -- though optimism is something that you'll likely want to keep on hold. Remember last year when it looked like he was going to do that Howard Hughes biopic before it went all Spruce Goose? Well it may still be alive. Although, he still has to make sure he can find financing which, in today's marketplace, is tough. Basically, he would have a better shot at making "Dick Tracy 2" in this climate than anything else.

Given that Woody Allen essentially gets whoever he wants to star in his films, all for the price of a song, you might think that actors and actresses don't fret too much about the script. After all, they're just happy to be working with a legend. But in the case of Owen Wilson, while he was certainly eager to take a role in "Midnight In Paris," it seems he had a few doubts about whether or not the time-jumping nature of the story could be pulled off.

"Moonrise Kingdom" not only earned Wes Anderson some of the best reviews in years, but has also done extremely well in limited release, where it's pulled in $37 million worldwide thus far and has been cracking the top ten domestically, even though it's in less than 900 theaters. And it seems he's very eager to get back behind the cameras.

Frankly, you could shoot Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn doing their taxes, then mowing the lawn and having a nap, and we'd probably watch it and love it. Those dudes crack us up ("Wedding Crashers" rules, "Starsky & Hutch" is pretty hilarious) so thank God for Shawn Levy (wow, never thought we'd type that out) for bringing them together again in "The Internship." And he's not skimping on the supporting cast either.

Let's look at this as the good, the bad and the ugly. Max Minghella, the son of the late Anthony Minghella, is in early negotiations to join the 20th Century Fox comedy, "The Internship." The good: it's a film written by Vince Vaughn, and it reunites Vaughn with his "Wedding Crashers" co-star Owen Wilson. The bad: Neither of them have been as good since that now undisputed modern comedy classic film arrived in 2005 (Though Vaughn's "The Break-Up" is very underrated). The relatively ugly (or to be fair, slightly unfortunate): It's directed by Shawn Levy, the rather toothless filmmaker behind MOR hits like “Just Married,” “Cheaper By The Dozen” the 2006 version of “The Pink Panther” whose career unexpectedly took off after his back to back “Night Of The Museum” films became major hits (he then helmed "Date Night" and "Real Steel").

Things are going very well for Wes Anderson these days. The director not only unveiled his latest movie, "Moonrise Kingdom," at the Cannes Film Festival, it opened this weekend in limited release to staggering, record-breaking numbers, boasting the highest per-screen averages in history. Not bad at all. And good news for fans is that he's already cooking up his next project. During press rounds in Cannes, the director revealed that he had the screenplay complete for what would be "a Euro movie," and that the picture will find him reuniting with frequent collaborator and friend Owen Wilson. And Anderson continues to parcel out info, now spilling a little bit about the movie's premise.

"Moonrise Kingdom" marks an important moment in the Anderson canon: it's his first film without any involvement from Owen Wilson, his writing partner and frequent star. Wilson co-wrote and starred in "Bottle Rocket," he co-wrote "Rushmore" (and contributed a little pictoral cameo), co-wrote and starred in "The Royal Tenenbaums," starred in "The Life Aquatic" and "The Darjeeling Limited," and let his voice to a minor character in "The Darjeeling Limited." But in 'Moonrise?' Despite rumors of a cameo, he's nowhere to be found, either in front of or behind the camera.
