Michael Fassbender has so many projects coming up—"Slow West," "Macbeth," "Assassin's Creed," an untitled Terrence Malick film—we nearly forgot about "The Light Between Oceans." And shame on us because it's directed by Derek Cianfrance, who has knocked it out of the park with his last two films, "Blue Valentine" and "The Place Between The Pines." And the project is adding another exciting name.

Some movies kick around in development, trying to get made. "Miss You Already" is one of those movies. It first surfaced back in 2012, when Jennifer Aniston signed up to star with Paul Andrew Williams ("London To Brighton," "Unfinished Song") directing his Brit List script he co-wrote with Morwenna Banks. Toni Collette joined not too long after, but then everything stalled out. Now, two years later, the project is back on with some big changes.

John C. Reilly, The Lobster'
Fuck, pardon my French, this cast rules. You should know and love Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos. He directed “Dogtooth” and “Alps” and quickly landed as a Cannes favorite and one-to-watch shortly thereafter. In case you’ve forgotten, he’s making his English-Language debut, it’s called “The Lobster” and it already features the star-studded cast of Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz, Ben Whishaw, Léa Seydoux, Olivia Colman, Ariane Labed (“Alps”) and Angeliki Papoulia (“Dogtooth”).

To The Wonder, Ben Affleck, Olga Kurylenko
From Bond girl in “Quantum of Solace” to comedic presence in “Seven Psychopaths,” actress Olga Kurylenko has run quite a range of diverse, solid supporting roles thus far, but the two films she has landing in theatres this month -- Terrence Malick's “To The Wonder” and sci-fi thriller “Oblivion” with Tom Cruise -- declare a shift toward strong central roles in her future. We recently got a chance to talk to Kurylenko about “Oblivion” and her career (more from that coming soon), but first, we chatted about her experience as Malick's leading lady in “To The Wonder” as it hits screens this weekend.

To The Wonder, Actors Cut From Malick Films
We’ve all been there. Cast as the lead in a meaty, dialogue-heavy role in a surefire masterpiece from one of the most unassailable geniuses of modern filmmaking, only to be reduced to sifting through the finished film on freeze frame occasionally shouting "Look! That’s my shadow on that fern!" or "Hey! That’s the back of my head near that egret!" The one comfort we can take when this inevitability occurs, is that we’re in fine company on the Malick cutting room floor. The only question is, whose lead will we follow in reacting to our role’s excision or drastic reduction?

Hoo boy, so let's recap this one: Last summer, it was reported that Barbra Streisand was going to direct her first film in sixteen years with "Skinny And Cat," and a pretty solid leading duo in Colin Firth and Cate Blanchett were found. Hooray, right? Well, nothing much was heard about it and earlier this week, Deadline dropped a nugget that the movie was still going forward. So far, so good, but here's where things get hazy...

With a big, meaty blockbuster under belt with "Oz The Great And Powerful," 2013 is off a nice start for Rachel Weisz, but it looks like there is a change in plans for the actress. While she signed up last fall to star in David Cronenberg's "Map To The Stars," it looks like she won't be part of the movie going forward.
