Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For
Eva Green is certainly making an impression in 2014. She's already turning heads and wagging tongues thanks to a rather memorable sex scene in "300: Rise Of An Empire," and she looks ready to scare in Showtime's forthcoming series "Penny Dreadful." Additionally, at the end of the summer, she'll be vamping once again in "Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" as Ava Lord, and some new pics from the movie have arrived, highlighting her green eyes and much more of the cast.

Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For
Eight years after audiences first visited the monochrome, rain slicked, bullet filled streets of "Sin City," are they ready to go there again? Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller certainly hope so, with talk of a TV series and "Sin City 3" already percolating. But to get there, the awkwardly titled "Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" will need to make some major waves, and the first trailer is here to entice with more pulpy adventures.

Better Living Through Chemistry
While many studios like to use the Sundance Film Festival to boost their star driven indie pics, it's a bit curious that "Better Living Through Chemistry" didn't make an appearance. After all, the cast is red carpet ready with Sam Rockwell, Olivia Wilde, Michelle Monaghan, Ray Liotta and Jane Fonda among them, so what else could it be? Well, perhaps this trailer is a clue...

2013 will close out nicely for Bob Odenkirk, with the actor saying farewell to "Breaking Bad" and soon to be seen in Alexander Payne's "Nebraska." And while he waits for things to get moving on that Saul Goodman spinoff, he's joining another TV show that is already getting all sorts of attention. FX's Coen Brothers produced "Fargo" series has finalized its cast with Odenkirk, Kate Walsh, Joey King and Oliver Platt joining Martin Freeman, Colin Hanks and Billy Bob Thornton in the show. Plot details thus far are being kept under wraps, but it's another "true crime" story with a Minnesota nice vibe. Production on the 10-episode series gets underway next month, and it will air in the spring.

Originally set to be Jonah Hill’s directorial debut, the Black List-approved “Kitchen Sink”—described as “The Breakfast Club” meets “Zombieland” with vampires and an alien invasion thrown in for good measure—has beefed its cast with some solid comedic forces. Deadline is reporting that Patton Oswalt, Bob Odenkirk and Ian Roberts (the Literal Doctor on “Arrested Development” and “Key & Peele” showrunner) have joined the film in unnamed roles, though it’s highly likely that the roles will be teachers or school administrators, given the high school setting of the genre mash-up.

Director Joe Carnahan’s mysterious project, “Stretch,” continues to gain a diverse cast. Little has been revealed about the plot other than that it involves a chauffeur who picks up an eccentric billionaire with “devious appetites.” It’s being touted as an action-comedy, which works to the advantage of new cast member James Badge Dale, who has jumped onto the film in an unspecified role.

Interviews are a necessary evil for actors and directors, part of the slog of promoting a movie, and while some can manage to endure the process, it seems Ray Liotta wasn't ready to play nice when speaking with the Examiner doing his duty for "The Iceman." Maybe he was just in a foul mood or really had to be somewhere else (we'll get to that), but when the actor wasn't dropping terse answers, he was weighing in on the comparative success of his recent movies.

Are we living in a post-gangster movie age? From the early talkies to the Oscar-winning success of “The Departed,” the genre has been ever-popular and responsible for seminal films from “White Heat” and “The Godfather” to “Goodfellas” and “Pulp Fiction.” But one struggles to think of a standout film in the genre since Scorsese's Oscar winner, with memorable mobsters now coming from television rather than the movies. We’re sure that someone will come along and give the form new life one of these days, but that reinvention of the wheel doesn’t come from Ariel Vroman’s “The Iceman,” which is decent enough, but fails to cover ground that hasn’t already been covered many times before.
