Everything Nice Charlize Theron
If the Internet can’t convince Eon Productions to cast Idris Elba as James Bond, perhaps his new role can land him a villain gig in Bond 24. Elba is set to voice Shere Khan in Disney and Jon Favreau's take on “The Jungle Book.” Favreau will use live-action and VFX to bring the story to the screen. Expect to see this sooner than later as Disney is neck and neck with Warner Bros. with their own version of Rudyard Kipling’s classic.

Isn't it enough to be handsomely paid and adored the world over? If you're a movie star, the answer is no, and you also long for a creatively fulfilling life behind the camera. After all, your good looks aren't going to last forever, and so naturally a lot of actors start directing movies when interest in on-screen performances has faded (look at Clint Eastwood and Robert Redford, two directorial heavyweights who rarely find themselves in front of the lens). Well, Renée Zellweger is about to make her debut film while Michael Keaton is returning to directorial duties, with two very different movies.

You're probably asking yourself, "Who asked for a third "Bridget Jones" movie? I don't know anyone who saw the second!" Well, you're probably a filthy, dirty American. "Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason" overcame it's clunky title to gross $222 million outside of America, a whopping 85% of its global total. It's taken awhile for the wheels to begin turning on a third film, but "Bridget Jones' Baby" overcame scheduling setbacks and the defection of director Paul Feig ("Bridesmaids") to set a coming start date under Peter Cattaneo ("The Full Monty"). However, several people behind the scenes were whispering that the film would be shutdown entirely in the face of script problems.

When news arrived this summer that Paul Feig, riding very high off the smash success of "Bridesmaids" was looking to take on "Bridget Jones 3," it didn't quite make sense to us. Given that the helmer had a world of opportunity open up for him, it seemed strange he would take on the third instalment of a pretty tepid franchise as his followup. We figured that maybe he had a unique approach that would put his stamp on the material, but whatever he was planning, that's now all in the past as Deadline report Feig has bailed on the movie.

Renée Zellweger is on a box office losing streak, the likes of which we haven't seen, from a formerly celebrated star and Oscar nominee, in a long time. Her last few starring vehicles -- "New In Town," "My One And Only," "Case 39" -- have been dead-on-arrival at the box office and you'd have to go way, way back to her "Bridget Jones" pictures to find anything resembling success (yes, "Cinderella Man" earned lots of critical acclaim but it failed at the box office and she is not the selling point of that film either). And unfortunately for the actress, the rut will continue.
