Shooting has begun on the sequel to "The Muppets," and even though it's not out until over a year from now, it's never too early to start marketing. And so, the first official images from the movie has arrived, and it's basically a collection of all the felt characters you know and love along with Ricky Gervais. But more importantly, a title and some actual plot details for upcoming movie have been revealed.

Late last year word arrived that none other than Ricky Gervais landed the lead role in the “The Muppets 2” with “Modern Family” star Ty Burrell taking over for Christoph Waltz in one of the other two major parts. At the time it was rumored that the film was “a Euro-caper,” and now THR is reporting that Tina Fey has snagged the female lead role opposite fellow Golden Globe host Gervais.

Before he was Bilbo, before he was Watson, Martin Freeman was Tim Canterbury, a lowly salesman at Wernham Hogg Paper Company. It's hard to believe, but the original U.K. "The Office" is already over ten years old, and its U.S. counterpart is wrapping up at the end of this season too. Well, if you need to a good reminder as to why the original is worth pulling off the shelf and giving another spin, it's gonna come from an unlikely place.

While he has dominated the small screen, Ricky Gervais has yet to find his niche at the multiplex. His lone leading man efforts "The Invention Of Lying" and "Ghost Town" didn't make much impact, while the dramatic-ish "Cemetery Junction" pretty much came and went without a trace. And while he's lent his face in support in a handful of studio films, he's still probably best known to most mainstream audiences as that British guy who insulted celebs for a couple years at the Golden Globes. Well now, he'll be bringing his wit to your children.

Jake and Elwood may have been on a mission from God, but Dan Aykroyd is on a mission to milk anything he's ever been associated with death for cash. Last summer it was reported that Aykroyd and co. were developing a "Glee"-style TV series based on the "The Blues Brothers" but it appears that's just the tip of the iceberg. At MIPTV it has been announced that Blues Brothers Approved Ventures LLC has teamed with Panacea Entertainment in an effort to whore out the fedora wearing duo in a variety of avenues that will include: an animated series, a Broadway show, a Vegas show, a radio network, social networking (?) and more. Comparing the brand to Coca-Cola and Nike (LOL), Panacea hopes to bring the characters to an audience "around the globe." Remember "Blues Brothers 2000"? That's all we're going to say about this....

You can't say that Robert Rodriguez wasn't ahead of the curve when it came to the current 3D fad/revolution. The technology might have been primitive compared to what's being used these days, but 2003's "Spy Kids 3D: Game Over" was the first wide 3D release in literally decades, predating the work of better known advocates in the field like James Cameron and Robert Zemeckis, and, for better or worse, paving the way for the current glut of stereoscopic releases.

While it's not our long anticipated reunion between Ron Burgundy and Brick Tamland, this will definitely tide us over for now. Deadline reports that Will Ferrell will be joining "The Office" including one episode that will take place after Steve Carell's Michael Scott has left the branch.
