Oscar winner Melissa Leo (“The Fighter”) is heading back to television to co-star with Matt Dillion in M. Night Shyamalan’s “Wayward Pines.” Fox is putting together the event series based on Blake Crouch’s novel "Pines" and hopes to have it out by fall 2014. Described as a "Twin Peaks"-esque show (high hopes), the story follows Secret Service agent Ethan Burke (Dillion) as he searches for two missing federal agents in Wayward Pines, Idaho. Of course, not everything is at it seems in Wayward Pines and Burke only finds more mysteries. One of which is Nurse Pam (Leo) who tends to Burke when he winds up in the town hospital, only to become a lethal advisory with deep ties to Wayward’s secrets.

For those of you who felt “Ides Of March” was entirely too cerebral and challenging, here comes the dunderheaded “Knife Fight.” A political satire that treads no new ground, this name-heavy comedy wastes an engaging central performance by Rob Lowe, who is completely game to play all sides of the political machine, swinging from the gubernatorial rafters like a contemporary “Phantom Of The Paradise,” bent on sabotaging his opposition, screwing the system and leaving little more than scorched earth for his clients to walk over.

Steven Soderbergh has been never less than adventurous over his career, and so there is something quite fitting about the director taking on the story of the popular and flamboyant performer Liberace for his final film before he steps away from the movie world and into a hiatus. Michael Douglas and Matt Damon have long been attached in the lead roles, and with the film gearing up to shoot this summer, Soderbergh has begun assembling his cast with three more names boarding the film.
