The final installment of Stephenie Meyers' 'Twilight Saga' has hit the screen with an audible, if Italian-accented "Squee!" here in its packed hormonal World Premiere at the Rome Film Festival. Destined to make a jillion dollars in its first six minutes of release, the film is already such a juggernaut that voicing an opinion on whether it's any good is a little like examining the fenderwork on the 20-wheeler that's bearing down on you at 100mph: it doesn't matter, because either way, you're going to be flattened. But hardy fools that we Playlisters are, we're going to damn well tell you what we think anyway: "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" is as thrilling, scary and swooningly romantic as this series gets. But it's still dire.

While it would appear that Robert Pattinson is back together -- or at least hanging out with -- Kristen Stewart (just in time for their 'Breaking Dawn' press tour, which is surely no coincidence), the actor continues to line up an impressive array of projects. And already attached to movies with Werner Herzog and David Michod, he's got another non-Hollywood filmmaker that's lining up in his schedule.

It's a bit of good news/bad news for Italian Robsten fans. The good news: the epic conclusion to the vampire story of our time, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2" will make its world premiere at the Rome Film Festival. The bad news? Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart won't be there. That red carpet just shed a single tear. But is this a sign the 'Breaking Dawn -- Part 2' press jaunt will have significantly less participation by its two leads as they work their relationship out? While the studio has insisted plans will go forth as planned, one wonders...

The epic finale that will live forever! You gotta love how modest Summit Entertainment is being about the final installment of the "Twilight" saga in their latest, jogging-happy, poster. Twihards will always complain about how movie bloggers tend to be haters about the "Twilight" series, but considering the marketing, the premises and some of these recently released photos, can you really blame us?

David Cronenberg's "Cosmopolis" opens in New York and Los Angeles today. It's one of the most genuinely weird cinematic experiences we've had this year (and we mean that in a good way). We got to talk to Cronenberg and his leading man Robert Pattinson, who stars in the film as a disaffected young millionaire who prowls New York City in a limousine, dodging a potential assassin, meeting various business associates, and talking endlessly about his existential plight in the midst of economic upheaval. We chatted with Cronenberg about how the project came to be, what it was like to shoot digitally, and much more.

To say that Robert Pattinson has been filling his post-"Twilight" calendar with ambitious films would be an understatement. This weekend brings his trippy David Cronenberg odyssey "Cosmopolis," and over the past few weeks and months, the actor has signed on to a handful of interesting films, including "Mission: Blacklist" about the hunt for Saddam Hussein, Werner Herzog's historical tale "Queen of the Desert" and "Animal Kingdom" director David Michôd's "The Rover." And it's the latter about which the actor has shared some tantalizing details.

Review: David Cronenberg's 'Cosmopolis' Is Both An Excellent Adaptation & A Rich, Complex Character Study

"Cosmopolis," an adaptation of Don DeLillo’s typically provocative novel of the same name, is the first feature film since 1999's "eXistenZ" that filmmaker David Cronenberg has directed and scripted. This in part explains why "Cosmopolis" is such a triumph: it’s both an exceptional adaptation and a remarkable work unto itself. Cronenberg makes slight but salient changes to DeLillo’s source narrative. These changes, which are best described by one character as “slight variation[s],” prove that Cronenberg’s given serious consideration to what should and shouldn’t be represented in his adaptation of the author’s ruminative, conversation-driven narrative. For example, in Cronenberg’s film, Eric Packer (a surprisingly adequate Robert Pattinson), an ambivalent and self-destructive power broker, does not get to have sex with his wife like he’s wanted to do throughout DeLillo’s book. Other changes, like the fact that Packer is investing and studying the steady rise in the Chinese yuan in the film and not the Japanese yen, as in the book, are equally striking. These differences noticeably enrich DeLillo’s original story, making Cronenberg’s "Cosmopolis" that much more rewarding in its own dizzying way.

Now, this is how you not only get over a breakup, but continue to build a helluva resume. Say what you will about Robert Pattinson, but he is using his "Twilight" fame to take on challenging, interesting projects. Over the past few months, he's attached himself to "Mission: Blacklist" about the hunt for Saddam Hussein, a mystery movie about The Band, and "Animal Kingdom" director David Michod's "The Rover." But wow, we could not have seen this next move coming.

So, in addition to serving as the final chapter in "The Twilight Saga," will 'Breaking Dawn Part 2' also be a scrapbook to Robsten, one of the great cinema romances of our time? Certainly, the picture of them gazing lovingly at each other in this batch of new images from the sequel carries with it a certain amount of weight. Will KStew and RPatz fans be able to contain their tears? Yes, this movie asks big questions...
